So my question is...Does the 07 800r have a sensor that will shut down the engine if oil runs out? Last week my bro was riding out on the lake when his sled shut down, he had forgot to check oil level and it ran out. The sled sat for an hour on the lake, he added oil and it started but now its running like crap, back firing, and has trouble idling. Wandering if he may have done some damage.

if it ran out it is toast.

i dont beleive there is a sensor to shut it down. there is a low oil light though not sure how he missed that.

top up the oil every ride the overflow lubes the waterpump cavity aswell its a bad idea to run a machine low anyways. air bubbles can get into the line that way also.

unless he didnt actually run it right out and the running like crap is an unrelated problem

That's what I was afraid of, he had a bad week, also hit a rock and bent lower a arm.

With that 07 engine anything is possible. I have had way to many problems to mention in this post. I am soooo close to dumping doo. Just blew my engine last week.
