saw on a couple news feeds. may need to head north if your august long plans include your OHV.

"The ban on OHVs includes the mountains and foothills in the northern boundary of Waterton Lakes Provincial Park and the Fire Protection Area south of the Red Deer River, where a fire ban has been in place since last week."

After spending the last week down along the OldMan river I am glad to see this. We left early because the conditions for the rivers are horrible. 20 degree water temps and every bit of grass and foliage is dry and crunchy. If something starts down there it will spread fast.

You sure wonder why they don't have a universal province wide map clearly showing the effected areas banned ..
Instead of a link to an infomercial like add.
It should be easier for people to simply look at a map , than the vague descriptions of some areas effected.
A lot of people may not be familiar with the area in question ...
One site and an easy to read pop up
Map should be first thing you see.....
Province wide .

Ohh there is a map but it takes a bit to find it ..
It should be front and centre .

Tyler posted it in post #5 lol

But any of the info always requires a little digging if someone doesn't understand what defines the areas in question. It's like Caribou closures in winter, if you do t know the boundary and miss a sign and never ridden the area how do you know?

There could be a better format for them to get the info out. Everyone obviously registers their OHV in Ab right? Lol. They can email you registration reminders, they could easily send you emails on restrictions that come up. But I digress.

Exactly. Tommorow it will be old news. Family drives two hours with a camper to ohv this weekend and gets told you can't use that here, or better yet get tickets for not knowing. Can we inform all quad clubs plus AOHVA to get the word out? The antis would just love to have media broadcasting law breaking ohv users. We all know they have had little to report lately.
