Those looking for an AST course I will now be offering training for private groups. Get your group together and PM me about organizing a date.

Over ankle deep at the Hurley pass, LOL. I know there are going to be some guys testing there new sleds up there this weekend. By tonight there might be enough snow not to hear your carbides on the gravel for a k or 2. Snow started sticking about a mile past branch 12.

Did you dig a pit? Just wondering if everything faceted during the cold spell?

Any update on the Hurley Area from this past week? I know that it's been raining at Goldbridge from the webcams, but hoping that some of the higher areas closer to Pemberton (Noel Creek or Hope Creek) got some snow
I really want to get out there this weekend!

Tenquille Snow Pillow. Looks like it was a little cooler than whistler and got a good shot. Snow line this AM was at about 5000'. If you can get high it is probably not to bad.

A few pics from today.

Yup that is 275cm in the high alpine! We are open now for the season for guiding and tours. Also this season offering private AST1 course. If you are going to take a course may as well take from a CAA professional member.

We went up the Hurley on Sunday (Dec 14th) and scoped out Noel Creek & Hope Creek. There wasn't enough snow for us to find a way up into the high alpine. :(
We ended up taking the Hurley to Sally's Pub @ Bralorne and going for a beer - apparently we were the first sledders of the season there and we warmly greeted with a free beer.

Where did you head up Ray? Looks pretty good up there, and more snow is on the way!

Backcountry Snowcats are now open for cat skiing so they are grooming it from 19K. Trail is in good shape.

Davedc, you might want to get your group to hire one of my guides to show you around and how to sled ski. You could even ask for Norona if he is vailable

Went up Brandywine yesterday. Parked at 4.5km (Spring Lot). Lots of cross ditches past the cabin and a few creeks leading into the meadow, about 150cm in the lower meadow, brandywine creek is very open. went up towards gauntlet, probed 290cm at the bottom of gauntlet. good riding above 1600m but we need a few more dumps before the snowcat can get into the meadow.

Thanks Ray - I talked to Norona and I think we figured out how to get to the snow on Xmas Eve - I made a short and poorly edited video of the Tenquille / Headquarters / Opal Lake area where we spent most of the day.

We saw about 15 other sleds up there that day.

Cheers,
David
