anyone know if the marked premium fuel in BC is ethanol free? or would that depend as well on the station?

Purple premium from AFD is what had gone through out machines last few years and has been good. 30-40 cents a litre or more difference between it and shell premium in same bc town.

Better question is can you buy marked premium anywhere in Alberta?

Nope... Unless you have coop deliver it to your own personal tank where they add the dye during the fill process... Other then that dyed prem at the pump is a BC only thing, was always told dyed prem has no ethonal due to the point it's "marine grade" and ethonal attracts H20...

Love Ethanol fuel.
Todays project was remove and clean carb on a quad.
What a mess.
Float stuck up. One jet completly plugged. Main jet was restricted. Float bowl covered in Green and bottom had lots of sludge.
Complete clean and rebuild.
Just time consumming (what the hell else do you do when your retired) LOL.
Use Seafoam also, but this is not the ,,,BE ALL, BE ALL solution either IMHO!
Premium in quad from now on also. Ethanol just seems to screw things up.
This has progressively been getting worse over a 3 year time period.
Generally only use this particular quad for winter snow plow duties only so it sits from May till November generally..

Anything that sits should always have premium in it with fuel stabilizer.

holy cow what a mess

One spray of carb cleaner and gone.
Kinda looks worse than it is in pictures. Almost a mold build up. Touch it and it breaks up.
Just have neve seen this before.
And no, it was not dirt or **** from fuel tank. I have fuel filters on my quads. (aftermarket in line)
Still fun ripping apart my first quad carb.
Learnt a few things........May help me or others one day on the trail.

We never had to use premium before.
And yes. fuel stabalizer and Seafoam.
Does this stuff actually work with Ethanol seperation in a carburaotor or fuel tank?
To many therios on it as far as i am concerned.
This actually was getting worse over a three year period of time.
Premium now as you said but all I was showing is what can happen over a period of time.
I am assuming that Ethenal may have something to do with it.

Damn, it will take another three years to see if there is a differance....LOL!
Thanks Caper11.

You are not wrong. The ethanol is a an issue.
My quad, my generator, lawn mower etc all get premium and fuel stabilizer, I have not had a problem yet, I try to get Esso gas as much as I can.

Ethanol blended regular has horrible shelf life.

I can definitely do that, what's the minimum order?

Shell premium or Chevron high test here in BC is all I use in the small engines (outboards, saws, quads, gens etc.) That ethanol is the devil.
The small engine shops must make a killing these days with the **** fuel out there.
