can't wait to see your ride when it's done, that's gonna be a great machine.

we were out there today, went for a rip out in hasler. when it gets cold, there's gonna be a helluva base out there. was gonna call you last nite, ended up watching hockey and crashin' early.

Hey bud, I was down in Kelowna all week, just got back tonight. How was Hassler? When I went through the Pine Pass it was 0 C, at the Hassler turn off it was 7 C:eek: Looking at the weather it is supposed to get cold, so we will have a good base like you said. Should get the ride back next week, suspension will be ready Dec 12.

was raining in town at 7:30am when we left, turned to snow around km 28 or so. then big wet thudflakes all day, temps above freezing and a foot of fresh heavy snow from saturday night. we were the first up to the pub sign, rode fresh until the rest of the sleds showed up. must have been 30-40 guys out there, got tracked up quick so we ripped back to the aluminum bowl. took a poke at the saddle to the bear's den, that heavy snow was awesome traction. turned out before the last section, was doable for sure but visibility sucked. got soaking wet, left around 4pm. good ride

Have to agree with you I have 2 of Kens skids a little rough on a rough trail but in the deep snow cannot beat it this is a either this one or that one question. Who wants a sled jacked up mountain riding is all about LOWER CENTRE of gravity just my 2 cents.

IMO mountain riding has more to do with floatation on the snow than lower center of gravity.

If CRF wants to try it, why not let him? His post was originally about anyone that actually had experience with this suspension.....

Not trying to be rude but do you have 1st hand experience with this skid? You seem very negative. Everyone that HAS or knows someone that HAS this suspension say's it's great.

I have asked for input, but just saying you can't have the best of both worlds does not cut it unless you have 1st hand knowledge. I would like you to explain why Nextech's skid will not be an excellent performer in the powder, trail, and hill climb.

Please explain.

Im not sure if your aware of this but there is no such thing as a rear skid that does it all. Nextech might build a skid that does something good. What Im not sure yet. When I see the head to head trust me ill let you know.

I will keep you posted. Curt said the skid will be ready Dec 12, hopefully we will have a good base and some deep powder by then. It's looking good.

I was in mountain magic the other day and they said this skid is supposed to give you a pretty good ride and still climb awesome. They are testing in valemount right now so hopefully they can shed some light on this subject. I had a really good look at the skid and it looks great and its very very light.

I totaly disagree, My XP is all about forward, stand up powder riding. Isn't that why people are putting risers on there sleds, to get the center of gravity higher? Even the Boss seats are trying to get your ass up, just like the town pump.

Totally different than the older type of sit down lower sleds. IMHO this skid helps achieve greater weight transfer with the travel if you want it. I have read and been told that you can pretty much adjust this skid for any type of riding you are doing.

I always thought the idea of risers and higher seats was to make the sitting to standing transition easier. You still want the center of gravity low in the sled or you will have something like the new phazer mtx's which are really tippy. As well unless I'm mistaken standing up moves your body weight down lower on the sled as well, effectively lowering the cg.

IMHO I would rather be able to ride my sled more like a dirt bike, than have a sled that is difficult to carve and boondock. I don't believe for one minute that the Nextech skid will make my XP hande worse, I am sure that in any condition this skid will make riding that much more fun. I read with the weight savings and adjustability which reduces trenching, this purchase will be one of my best mods.

Buy a mountain magic skid if you want suspension thats based off a 94 XLT with 8" of travel. Sure you can just buy some nice powdercoated old school suspension for a large price.

Ted @Terra Alps still has not finished my sled yet. I dropped it off in July for a custom tunnel, BB Kit and a set of Jaws pipes. I had Curt send him the suspension to put in. He told me he would have it done this week, I guess that is not going to happen.

In what ways.

Carbon Fiber, Air setup not spring like MM, more travel, better for high HP sleds with more adjustability. All this and they are the same price. Mountain Magic is selling Nextech skids, so I guess they are moving on from their suspensions.

Remember I never said that MM skids are not good!
