Doesn't say when, though.

interesting that it's a 5.0 litre and v8... always figured it would be an inline 6 like the 2500/3500's and 5.0 seems like it will be fairly big... i heard way back when they were looking at a 3.0... I hope toyota try one!

This will be interersting not as big as the domestics but still nice power and fuel economy
Toyota was looking at a diesel in 2008 before the slowdown

You would think that nissan would use their own diesel engines.

Only problem I can see with this setup is gonna be the payload capacity, with all the extra weight of that big v8 cummins on a half ton chassis, there wont be much room left payload wise. Couple two or three passengers and a full tank of fuel isnt gonna leave too many spare pounds available to haul anything, as it is, a gasser v8 with passengers and full of fuel is not leaving a bunch of room weight wise. Itll have all the power in the world but without the chassis to utilize that motor I can see this truck being a bit of a let down, but we'll see what happens I guess

Indeed... And if they pulled off 26-28mpg realistically they will sell a ton of them.

Since when are today's diesels fuel efficient? All I hear nowadays is how they suck fuel to meet emissions.

Hopefully change that interior. Pretty boring. Reminds me of an old Dodge Caravan.
