The GM rides a bit better for sure. Not that the ram is bad...just stiffer. That's where it ends for me. GM is way behind on the interior and options. I couldn't get used to the way you sit in the gm. I found the paint terrible as well. If looking at ram as mentioned look for a longhorn or limited for the nicer leather. It's worth it. My experience is on the 3500s. Can't comment on the gas part

The 2500 Rams have a pretty decent ride with the rear coils vs leafs. That 6.4 with the 8 speed seems like a pretty decent setup too.

I've been looking at all 3 brands trying to decide what to get next, my search has led me to ordering a Ram 2500 with gas 6.4 and the air suspension option, it rides nice empty or loaded. Will be great pulling my new sled trailer, and the travel trailer I plan to buy this summer.

Good luck with the air suspension.
They don’t like the cold weather and unless the 2500 is different then the 1500 ?
If it faults and truck goes into limb mode .

I have a 2018 1500 High Country with a 6.2 and love it. I put a Super Spring in the back, because Standens asked why I'd buy a $1000 air bag kit, that's going to fail? They wanted to put another spring in, but then I found the overloader option.
Prior to that, had a 2018 2500 SLE with 6.0 and 4:11's, loved the truck..... Hated the gearing!!! Can't get different gearing unless you go to a 3500 gas pot
Prior to that was a 2016 1500 LT with 5.3, rode as nice as a Caddy
Prior to that was a 2005 Harley 6.0 Diesel, owned for 11 years, electrical issues only......

After owning my HC with the 6.2 with 3:23 and love it, I'd like to try the 6.6 as long as as you're not stuck with 4:11 gears

My next 6.2 half ton will be the tow max . Comes with 3:73 ratio and all the other options you would want .
Not many around used and if you find one it’s high priced and sold shortly afterward .
That’s a good thing . IMO
Also will add that I have the eco boost now with 4:10 ratio and it comes with 35 inch tires and 10 speed .
It’s set up well .

Just went from a lmm duramax 2500 Back down to a 1500. Had 445xxxkm on it. Went with the 6.2l and 10speed, 420hp and 460 torque. I was really sceptical going back to a gasser after having a diesel for so long. But it has me impressed. Better on fuel then my diesel (and premium gas has been cheaper) Has lots of power to pull my 26' bumper pull(7000lbs)

Not sure about the new 6.6l. But Less power(401hp)and only 4 lbs of torque more(464). I wouldn't shy away from the gassers. Super happy with mine. Would be good to hear from anyone that's driven the 6.2 and 6.6

I went from a 2011 LML to a 2015 6.2l 8 speed. Excellent power, had a few scary situations pulling the trailer (29’ bumper pull ~8000 lbs) and didn’t feel comfortable with the family in there so sold that and went to a 2010 LMM. Can’t beat it at all for the stability, but miss the comfort of a half ton and 6.2l did everything I ever needed on the power side.
Resale is terrible on a gas job though, I expect a few years on the LMM and only losing 1/4 the price I would have on a gas job.
Also with the 6.2l it’s a pretty expense package since you need a loaded option, incase your looking for a base level truck.

This.
I convinced myself in late summer / fall of 2018 that it was time to go back to a 3/4 ton from the previous 2 half tons I had and I was going to go gas. Couldn't find what I wanted because all the dealers are VERY reluctant to order a HD gas truck for stock. Ended up buying a GM Duramax (had one before and liked it) and happy I did. I don't plan I keeping it any longer than 2 years and every dealer I talked to warned me I was going to take it dry trying to trade it as they have next to no one coming in looking for used HD gas trucks. Diesel is a complete different story. If you're going to keep it long term, that's a different story, but if you don't plan on that, I'd advise against it.

Cost me a fuel pump at 87000 ish and that’s it .
Paid $51000 private deal and he owed $59000.00 lol. He bought wrong . Haha
Sold $42000
For my self that is cheap driving . Work truck .

For me a newer one would be a driving around truck, back and forth to work, trips down south here and my diesel would sit. If I get rid of my diesel,.. it would be a toss up if I get another one or the gas because I haul 2 sleds in the winter, and in the summer I haul my 2 quads and pull my travel trailer. I don't put many km on in a year maybe 15,000, so I'm really leaning towards a gas 2500 and just selling my '06.

My 6.2 is the max tow with 3.73 gears but it is a 2013. Would be nice if its worth something when I want to sell.

I don't think they have offered 3.73 for at least the last 3 years. All the max tow now are only 3.42.
