Today gas prices looks very attractive, but in a year or two, maybe not. Most years, diesel is cheaper, plus better fuel mileage. Buying new, it is only $10k extra for a duramax. You get double that back on used resale. Filter and oil is more, but I am only familiar with duramax's, as the last ford I had was a 2010. Oil filters are $15 at Canadian Tire and fuel filters are $50 on Amazon. Sure it takes 5 more litres of oil, but nothing that is going to break the bank.
You can get them in a 2500 in model years 2001 up to 2007 in the classic body style. They had a 5 speed Allison, six speed in '06/07. 8.1 was discontinued in 2008.6.0L gas are great engines. 8.1L is awesome too but more rare, I think just available in 3500's?
I've been looking at a couple of 2500 Avalanches with the 8.1You can get them in a 2500 in model years 2001 up to 2007 in the classic body style. They had a 5 speed Allison, six speed in '06/07. 8.1 was discontinued in 2008.
You are correct. LML duramax's are 10L, but my 6.4L Ford powerstroke took 14L. All over the map I guess.Aren’t they down to like 2L oil difference? Pretty sure the new 5.3 6.2 are 8 ish L. I would assume the 6.6 gas is around there
