New to quadding, Edmonton Area

Hey Guys and Gals,

Im Ryan, new to quadding and living in the Edmonton area. I just scored a sweet deal on a 2006 Arctic Cat 500 4x4. Looking to get out and do some riding on my days off! I work out of town, but usually around every second weekend. Really looking to check out the iron horse trail at some point. Riding is just no fun by yourself and especially when you do not know where the good spots are.
Looking forward to meeting some of you out on the trails!

Welcome to the forum and the sport of quading.
Lots of good places to ride around here (for now anyway), check the mud pit and post when your going out as lots of people like to hook up with other riders. You could also join a local club like the lac Ste Ann ATV club (north west of Edmonton) or Brazeau ATV club (south west of Edmonton) if you like rallies and poker runs.

My husband, daughters and I checked out a small section of the iron horse trail this year and it was a great ride. The section we were on was a very simple area, but had some off trails that are sled trails which took us into some really nice scenery and also made it slightly more challenging. It was definitely a simple ride. You can park right in the town of Smoky lake and head out on the trail. I found it a bit bumpy and a lot of texas gates, but still awesome. The trail keeps on going and you can start at numerous places. I also heard Vega is a great place to go. Happy quadding!

Just a heads up. The sled trails that are groomed in the winter are not to have any quads or sxs's on them. You must stay on the actual iron horse. Summer time isn't an issue though.

Hi Ryan, I'm new to the site as well. Like mentioned lots of places to go around here depending on how far you want to travel and what kind of quadding you want to do. I don't quad in the winter but could tell you a few good spots to go or show you come summer time.
