Very nice machine, keep us updated on how you like it. Hopefully 1 in my future, like the limited, want a cab for hunting and plowing snow and a little recreational riding

Hey ukmudking. How do you like those reverse lights? Do they throw enough light for backing up and working behind the machine?

The backup lights are in my opinion ok, maybe the 52" lightbar up front is spoiling me. The reverse lights to get the job done.

I will be putting something bigger on the back, was thinking of getting these and a 50" light bar. https://www.battlearmordesigns.com/...fender-500-800-1000-rear-50-straight-brackets

But as i use the "crate" as someone called it I am not sure what to do.

Thanks..... I'm gonna order a machine next week and am making a list of accessories etc to get. What make is your front light bar? Have you thought about putting an aftermarket heater in? I'm debating ordering one from the states along with a bunch of other stuff from down there.

Is the limited a better bang for your dollar over the XMR ?
Just curious as the new Limited has air conditioning as well .
Just curious?
Thanks

I put a ice crusher heater in mine with soft doors and superatv flip windshield. I would probably spend the money and go with an oem heater if you're going to be using it a lot in the winter like I do with tracks.

how does that heater/door combo work? Does the heater keep it reasonably warm? I’ll be using it some in the winter, probably down to -10 or so, just with tires, no tracks planned.

Not for me. The limited doesn’t come with the smart lock front diff, and I don’t want the full cab, just more stuff to clean and get worn out/ damaged. The XMR has lower gearing, the better front diff, high mount winch, snorkel kit, mud guards and rock sliders, bigger tires. I looked at some videos of the limited and it looks like the A/C compressor is a belt drive off the engine. I don’t think it will tolerate deep water or mud too well.

I spent a lot of time debating what machine to buy, for me the XMR came with more. I use my Defender for 60% Work 40% Play. I plow with it and do chores. Very recently I realized I love the ultra low gearing, I can seriously smash the ice hard windrows. The locking front diff is awesome. The tires are ok but and I dont know what to do, I was thinking of maxxis carnivores to kill the vibration, but I just put more rubber on the doors to stop this. Yes other tires will be better for some stuff but the stock XMR tires get me anywhere I want, and chew through a lot of snow. Plowing at -30 with a half windshield sucks, will I pay brp prices for a full windshield, No. Will I get a piece of plexiglass to cover the other half, Yes. For me the XMR was the best option. I didn't want a full cab, is the AC and Heat going to hold up if your going through 3' of water? I dont know. But if I was ranching, and needed a better cab to keep me from the elements yes I would look at a cab model, but for the price i would most likely end up at auction buying a used F150. Buy what you want, just make sure it fits your needs as best it can. The defender is awesome, and so is my F150.

Just to finish my rant, I was going to buy someones used Jeep that they dumped money into lifting and putting lockers and bumpers on. These machines Jeep, Defender, F150 cost a good chunk of money. Buy what you want, but make sure you can have fun with it. Cdnfireman if your around edmonton and want to check out my defender let me know. When I get back home I will post where I got the light bar and brackets from, no i don't want a heater thats just me, if a heater was a consideration for me i would have bought a used Jeep. pfi572 the XMR is badass its what I need for me. Buy what you need for you, and i will keep answering questions as best I can.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought about a Jeep or something similar but there’s too many restrictions on full sized vehicles now, and I don’t disagree with most of them. I’ll be ordering a defender next week. Just curious how the dealer treated you. Any discounts on the machine or accessories?
