hmmm i know lots of ppl that own in trout lake and nakusp ... never heard any thing ????

Over half of Silver Cup Ridge closed to snowmobiling for Caribou habitat. Lots of closed area around Nakusp because of Caribou too............oh but that can't be true can it, because there's only a problem close to the Alberta border where there's lots of people!

 I need to bring back my old signature line: "Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience."

Before you start slagging the sled club I am treasurer and secretary for, (Nelson Sno-Goers) We actively groomed this past season, more than ever. I have no idea what the grooming was like when you were over here, it was my first season on this side of the Salmo/Creston, but I will assure you that our club takes great pride in maintaining our area. Dedicated and skilled volunteers have worked their butts off to ensure the trails were kept at their optimum potential. Sometimes stuff gets pounded out, I understand that your experience was not a great one, I am sorry for that. But I believe this is a strong club with a lot of potential, and lots of great people involved who work hard to make sure we have a positive presence in this area. If you come back to this area to ride, I'll do my best to make sure your ride is a good one.

Trish

I was slagging on Willy more than your club Trish, but I wasn't exagerrating either. I didn't ride your groomed trails last year, other than from the washout in Springer up to Meteor. Maybe they're better now. I realize trails get pounded out....ours do to. I can ride rough trails just fine. Coming out after the hill climbs I fully expected it. That many sleds always destroy a trail quickly. My issue is paying to ride when the trail obviously hasn't been touched in 3 weeks, which has been my experience over there in previous years. I spent many years grooming for our club. I can tell the difference between a freshly pounded out trail and one that's been that way for a long time.

Gotchya!
I really enjoy the dedication of this club. It is quite diverse in age, and experience. Some of the guys on there are seasoned vetrans with a lifetime of experience. Then you have the energetic youth, who are just raring to help out wherever neccesary. I am super thankful to be a part of this club. They are kind of like family. We have monthly meetings, so if there is an area that you anticipate riding when you are out this way visiting, shoot me a pm! I can totally understand where you are coming from and will try to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Have an awesome day.

Not lookin' for special treatment Trish. Just follow your regular grooming program, and if your groomer breaks down and you can't groom for a month....don't charge people to ride. It'll all be good.

Trish, I come to Nelson one or two weekends each season and always enjoy 6 mile. I do leave money in the cabin too because I am impressed with how well it is maintained. I always am welcomed by locals too. Thanks to you and the club for your hard work. Give-out is a little more rustic but it is fun too.

Awesome!! Let us know when you are in the area! I'll work most Saturdays but Sunday and Mondays are ride days. See if you can make it for the Meteor Mine Hill Climb in Feb!

is Ted the guy who owns the mill ??
Yes, well not sure on ownership now as his daughter and her husband run it now. Ted still has ownership on various properties around though, he supposedly put a stop to the city of Trails plans for Violin lake. Would have been open to public year round but because the road passes through Atco property it was shut down.

Fortunately it's not half, the eastern part (American creek) is closed according to this map. Still lots of good riding up on Silvercup ridge, and probably this time of year too! :D

i don't ride groomed trails lol fernie and the rest of ya think the sky is falling lol i thought id let ya know the sky is only falling near the Alberta boarder too many ppl = closed areas . u seem to know alot !! how come u don't know anything about the kelly mountain issue ???

willy, like I said you don't know Jack and you're just a drama queen. The "club" that tried this play wound up with nothing.... are you thick or just illiterate? In fact, as kootenaycat mentioned, they got sent packing, how do you think they are going to get rights again? Not sure how you think that was a "win"...... Some personal friends trucks got blocked in up there and were told some "less than nice" things when they refused to pay for their "trail" that had not even been groomed that day, I hope no one ever tries to block them in again up there, because it won't be pretty. I've heard specifically that lots of people will not be any kind of tolerant to the same approach in the future as well.

And why would I have heard about Kelly Mt? Has anything changed in respect to riding there.....oh wait, NOPE! LMAO, after the other issues, why would anyone put any stock in something like that, especially out of your mouth? yeah....it might happen in 2035, until then, its just hearsay. And as KC mentioned, you can access Kelly from Pend d'oreille, archibald, wildwood, marsh, bell, query...should I go on?

mabey if u didnt live in Alberta u would know what u r talking about lol they already "got" the rights but u keep on thinking u know everything lol

#1 - which area are you talking about "rights".....pretty vague argument without posting a location.Post up proof of all these claims you make about "rights", I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong once you post the map and the agreement that is signed

#2 - Let the Alberta thing go man, you're bait is done and no one is biting anymore. My location is just some letters on a screen, I'll be back in 2 weeks again and I'm not afraid of my tires hitting the asphalt or putting gas in my tank to get there...funny how some people want to think less of person because of their location.... as if it matters....really sad to see that anyone is society would be that petty.....

I'll be riding the Bombi and lots of your other "secret" spots again this winter just like I have been for over 20 yrs, maybe we can hook up and I'll show you around some ones you don't know about. Look for the handsome guy with the white oakleys on the brand new sled throwing stacks of money into the fireplace at the cabin!

I'm done with this one, this horse has been beaten so much its glue.

Later dude, gonna take the kids to the playground now.

Willy, that looks like a spring melt formation! The gate post on the far right isn't buried yet, the page wire fencing is what maybe 5' high and you think you have lots of snow?

You got your rose colored glasses with the big white frames on dude????
