Would it be worthwhile to do a viper and throw some updates on it? What are the main differences between a turbo viper and a sidewinder? Just wondering if you could save a bit that way.

Sidewinder handles more like a two stroke, viper handles like a lumber wagon.
If you can get past the lumber wagon part you can save some big bucks. Just don't buy the vipers with the PWC engines in them as they have weak rods.
I thought the same thing but you would have to ride one to believe it for yourself. What makes the sidewinder handle so much better? Aren’t they built on the same chassis and have different frontends? Forgive me for all the questions I don’t have much knowledge when it comes to the Yamaha stuff. I’m just interested to see what has changed so much?

I bet you could pick up a very low mile turbo viper for $5-7k.
With a turbo? You could buy new ones off the showroom floor here a couple weeks ago for $8k.
With a turbo?
You obviously drink your doolaide and wear your yellow blinders. First off a new Turbo sidewinder is about 18.5-19 and many people are riding them in the tight trees. They are no longer a point and shoot sled, this being said neither of my turbo's are set up for pulling chutes. I love to ride deep powder and they definately shine there.Turbo yammie r 30k and all they r good for is climbing big hills. Not a tree sled. U want a tree sled G4 175 done.
This statement would have been accurate 3 years ago.Turbo yammie r 30k and all they r good for is climbing big hills. Not a tree sled. U want a tree sled G4 175 done.
What could you possibly spend 15k on to improve the handling of the Sidewinder? Have you even riden one lol?New yammie still sucks stock .need so much stuff out of the box to make it work. Yes they ride better than old ones . Yes be sweet sled after u spend 30k but its still a one trick pony.

What are you running for skis ?Ya I could see spending $5000 on one for mods (power and preference wise), but really only skis need an upgrade for handling IMO on the Sidewinder. He's so pro in the world of sledding Yamaha probably gave him one free and he sent it back after a short trail ride saying this thing sucks and was not up to the task of his riding ability. He also probably figured something was wrong when he did the whole trail ride and never blew a belt LMFAO
