So the oldest boy will be starting his schooling in Lethbridge this January. We are hoping to get an apartment instead of res. Tell me good areas to live in and ones to avoid. Thanks in advance.

Oh fack that boy is in for a treat, incredibly good woman-man ratio. Put him in the dorms for at least semester to help meet people...

The area around the college is all older buildings. The neighbourhoods are decent just older. When I went to college I lived on the west side in a townhouse. There are more rentals on the west side due to the University being over there.

Even tho it's close, stay the hell away from scenic heights, and anything within 10 blocks of downtown. West side is hit and miss, the older section(s) are getting pretty rough. Indian heights and Nicholas Sheran areas are iffy. I would stay off the west side going to the college, the commute across the hill is terrible. Gong show all winter long.
