Tape Gate is full on after Chicago. 24 car found to have tape on the leading edge of the rear spoiler post race. Video shows it flapping in the wind creating extra downforce on the rear of the car. A crewmember gave it away post race when Chase Elliott was being interviewed by NBC and the camera caught a somewhat guilty looking crew member pull it off on camera, realize there was a camera on him and then look almost confused after being caught. Lmao! 24 car 2nd place finish encumbered, loses 15 points and crewchief suspended one race and big fine slapped on him.

1st practice results just in from New Hampshire, Nascars most boring track IMO. Here they are: 42-18-5-78-21-11-20-77-1-41. Johnson and Elliott both slap the wall in practice and will go to the back no matter how well they qualify after going to backup cars. The 24 is in a deep hole to move on with his encumbered finish from last week and now a poor starting position at a track that is brutal to make passes on.

I like the driver interviews on the 24 penalty. Newman was funny as he tried to hold back and not give up any of his money.

Nascar needs to take the 78 car back to their research and development center and crawl all over that car for a full week. They have something no one else has and I wouldn't be surprised if its illegal. How can a car that is bent up and takes 2 tires hold off clean cars with 4 tires on a track where tires are king?

They sprinkled Pixie dust on it during the tire change.

Nascar makes a statement that the national anthem is a hallmark to what Nascar holds dearly. The owners back Nascar and say they will not put up with any disrespect of the flag and the country. Today Earnhardt Jr. went against this philosophy and made a statement that he believes in the right to take a knee and have peaceful protest. Well Mr Hendrick? Do you have the kahuna's or not?

Interesting qualifying runs at Dover. Only a couple cars went on the track in the first 12 minutes of first segment, then a rush in the last 6 minutes.

Starting grid. 78-18-42-20-19-11-88-31-4-77-21-24

Sad day. Robert Yates loses his battle with cancer at the age of 74. The hp he made in the 28 and 88 car back in the mid 90's is what drew me to this sport. Thanks NASCAR for giving him the chance to be inducted to the hall of fame while he still lived. RIP to one of the best engine builders in the sport.
