Now get this. Chocolate Meyers talked about this today on Sirius. The qualifying results today will also determine the pit stall selections at the Martinsville race next week. This is because they plan on qualifying for that race 3 hours before the actual race on same day Sunday. They don't feel this will allow enough time to sort out the pit selections in time for the crews to set up. This is a huge advantage for Truex Chocolate says as the #1 pit at Martinsville is a huge advantage only at that track compared to others. What a crock. Why change things mid season like this especially in the playoffs?

Final practice is over and here were the top 10 cars: 21-18-4-19-20-14-77-42-2-1. Blaney to the back with a tech violation in post qualifying inspection. He will have his work cut out for him in this race but was the spring winner.

Big shake up in the points today as one of the championship favorites is out as well as a past champion. Kyle Larson blew his motor early in the race and had a DNF and is out of the Chase. Also Matt Kenseth had a pit road issue for 2 many men working on the car and lost out on points as well. Jamie McMurray and Ricky Stenhouse also failed to advance.

Great comeback for the #78 team after an early penalty. I would have liked to hear Kenseth's honest opinion on his penalty. He did a great job of keeping it in!!

Just wanted to update everyone on the updated playoff standings after Kansas:

Truex
Busch -27
Keselowski -43
Harvick -52
Johnson -52
Hamlin -55
Blaney -60
Elliott -63

The paper clip is next. Martinsville should shake up some things as well.

Well that was wild one today at the paper clip! Kes had the dominant car winning both stages and leading on a late restart but Elliott took him to the top of the track on the restart and then Hamlin dumped Elliott much to the crowds disapproval. Then Busch took Hamlin wide on the next restart in overtime winning the race. The field crashed at the start finish line making it look like Talladega. Here's your top 10
finishers or survivors: 18-78-14-2-4-6-11-21-20

I think Logano should have went to the pits with his flat early. Then Brad would not have to do the last restart.

Just my opinion

Has Nascar lost its mind? So get this. The 14 team and Clint Bowyer received a L1 penalty after Martinsville for not having a in car camera mount in the car or an equivalent weight compensation as they chose to not go the in car option. They are fined $25,000, docked 10 driver and owners points and Bowyers crewchief is suspended for 1 race?????? Meanwhile Denny Hamlin admits to wrecking Chase Elliott for the position at the end of the race and gets nothing? He even swears in a post race interview and is not fined even though Earnhardt Jr. was fined years ago for saying the same word after a race at Talladega? Well done Nascar! Whats next? Improper parking of bus in the motorcoach lot?

Kurt Busch sets a new track record at Texas at over 200 mph to win the pole! Hamlin 2nd and Harvick
3rd. 7 cars missed qualifying because of issues in tech including Elliott, Kenseth and Logano.
