Their windshields were too thin..how the hell do you measure the thickness of a windshield when its installed?!?!? Other than a slight weight savings, I wonder what the advantage would be?

I agree. How do they measure the thickness. You would think they would want the window thicker for not only safety but aero. Got to be a reason we can't think of. Guess that is why we aren't racing hey Woody?Lol.

New rules this weekend in Talladega to limit how long cars can push each other in the draft. They have modified the pop off valves on the cars so they will open sooner forcing the cars to switch positions as not to overheat. Gotta think the new Ford FR9 engine will have an advantage as Ford engineers built much better cooling into that engine than what the competitors have. I hope this new rule helps put a stop to tandem racing as everyone feels the novelty has worn off. What do you guys think?

I think the aero package needs to change before they get rid of the 2 car draft, lowering the presure for the pop off valves is just a band-aid because the cars will still want to be in 2's. And I don't understand the no grease rule I thought they did that to stop spinning cars out!

Nascar has been trying for years to figure out how to make the restrictor plate races safer with no avail. They should let them get back to pack racing, make pushing illegal and keep the fans happy. That is the racing the fans want to watch. The no grease rule is to deter pushing but it won`t and we will have more wrecks on Sunday. I don`t know what the answers are Mike. Your guess is as good as mine. Lol.

Well it wasn't as exciting a finish as recent years but it was good old Dega nonetheless. Bowyer outdueled his teamate Jeff Burton for the win with lots of room to spare from the rest of the field. Both douches, JJ,Harvick, and Gordon all took big hits in their title hopes as crashes and broken deals sealed their fates. In a rather controversial moment late in the race Trevor Bayne left Jeff Gordon high and dry to help Matt Kenseth when Matt lost contact in the last re start with Ragan. Gordon was not happy but Bayne was given orders over the radio to dump Gordon and help Kenseth. Edwards is your leader still with Kenseth now in second. JJ is sunk now 50 points back with 4 races left.

Big fines and suspensions to Waltrips teams today for illegal windshields. 25 points docked for owners and drivers, $50000 fines per team and crew and car chiefs suspended to end of season. Wow!

They got caught with rocket fuel in the intake manifold back at Daytona the first year he started the teams. I think Nascar is sending Mikey a message.

Does anybody know what the advantage was to have a thinner windsheild? I've tried looking it up, but haven't seen anything on it yet.

Read on Jayski's tonite that Knaus leaned in the window before the race and told JJ to crash the car if he won the race. Apparently JJ was dumb founded at the request and Knaus told him not to worry but to do it just incase they didn't fit the template in post race inspection. It was on the incar race cam and there for everyone to see. That Knaus is the biggest cheat in the sport and has already been caught a few times already.

I watched a clip with JJ explaining what was said. He said that the car had passed inspections prior to the race, and that the cars were locked in a compound, so there couldn't have been any tampering. He said it was a foolish comment made by Knauss.
Did anybody watch the clip were they broadcast the incar conversation by Gordon and Bayne

That Spencer is still a squirrely bugger :)

There isnt a team in Nascar that doesnt push the limits of the rules to the fullest, if you believe otherwise your truly naive.

Rain has washed out qualifying so they will line up via points and Edwards will be your pole sitter. Should help the Fords as this isn't their kinda track. Who's everyone picking?
