Well guys we are at another mile and a half cookie cutter track in Charlotte and the usual suspects are at the front again and they have blue ovals on their hoods. Now if only they can convert these great starting positions into wins. The top 5 after qualifying are Stewart, Kenseth, Edwards, Allmendinger and the Biff. Stewart is going to need to get on his horse quickly or they will freight train him 4 at a time. Big surprise but I'm going with Kenseth as this is the site of his first win and he likes Charlotte at night with all that grip. Who are you guys taking?
So the question is......Do the Busch brothers have any friends in the Sprint Cup series? Now Kyle has cousin Carl mad at him and reports say Steve Addington has had enough of being publically berated over and over again on the radio by brother Kurt and has said he will be leaving JGR after the season is over. What a pair of azzhats those two are!
I know its not related to Nascar but it still is about car racing. Dan Wheldon, this years Indy 500 winner was killed today in a horrific multi car crash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in an Indy car race. Multiple cars went airborne at 220 mph into the wall and catch fence which was his ultimate cause of death. Dan was 33 years old. RIP.
We also lost Rick Huseman and his brother Jeff in a plane crash this weekend, Rick was one of the premeire offroad racers and his broher was his crew cheif, sad weekend for motorsports!
New rules this weekend in Talladega to limit how long cars can push each other in the draft. They have modified the pop off valves on the cars so they will open sooner forcing the cars to switch positions as not to overheat. Gotta think the new Ford FR9 engine will have an advantage as Ford engineers built much better cooling into that engine than what the competitors have. I hope this new rule helps put a stop to tandem racing as everyone feels the novelty has worn off. What do you guys think?
Should be an interesting race. Throws a few more variables into it now. Be curious to know how many laps they can run before they need to switch. So the guy pushing may actually win the race this time depending on the timing of the pop-off valve. Interesting post Snopro, Thanks.
Tally...dega super speedway boys. Rednecks, Budweiser tube tops, crooked teeth and almost 200mph average speed in the first 2 practices. Waltrip racing has already had their cars as well as JTG Racings windshields confiscated and sent back to Charlotte for inspection. Some teams have figured out how to get around the new pop off valve rule and some haven't including Penske racing which is really pizzing off Senor douche. Harvick is running super slippery tape on his rear bumper to get around the no axle grease or Pam cooking spray rule made 2 weeks ago. Ah the life of a Nascar inspector. Who's winning this deal? I'm picking one of the Rousch Fords. What about you guys?
Their windshields were too thin..how the hell do you measure the thickness of a windshield when its installed?!?!? Other than a slight weight savings, I wonder what the advantage would be?
