Name that engine

The engine in pic. one was a real hot rod in it's day. Only one I ever laid a wrench to had tuned exhaust, think headers for a large gas engne.

They called em a shaky eight. Only one runnin in Alberta now. Doubt I'll ever get to overhaul another unless I go to the states. Enough runnin down there still. Used to be 13 in Alberta. Michigan has a bunch but v16 ones I believe. 20 some in tugboats still chugging as well.

Only one I ever saw was in Peacocks shop in Edmonton, we gave the compressor a quick inspection. I can't remember where it was going though, that was a solid 20yrs ago now. Crap I feel old sometimes.

Ok I'm sure I know the engine builder. That name is famous for inventions. I work on more turbines and pumps than I do engines. The strangest engine I ever worked on was a MEP opposed piston engine.

I don't have a fondness for any of Waukesha's eurotrash engines either. I do like their AT's for reasons I don't understand though.

It does look good. They just finished a turnaround there a couple weeks ago, so I'm thinking it got a bath afterwards. Not sure what size/model it is other than a Superior. Not my field of expertise, just a pipe fitter turned rigger.

Love the whites. Easy to work on. But not usually that clean unless a guy stays on top of the leaks.
