Hyvo vs stock, The hyvo is slightly thicker and it is shaped differently.

Here is where people have problems, you cannot put a hyvo gear in the stock chain, it looks like it will work but if you examine it closely it doesn’t fit properly and within a few hundred kms you will have a failure, the pics may not show it well.

Final assembly, the tension is much less with the extra tooth on the gear and honestly it barely fits, this chain will stretch some too but nothing like the other chain. I will report my findings after our ride next weekend, see you in the hills.

looking forward to seeing how you like the 22T gear. when I did the hyvo swap I put a 19T gear in but have yet to ride it. I had a 19T in my ‘20 Freeride 165 and liked it.

It made quite a big improvement on my 21, hopefully the same result on this one.

Be interesting to see your deep snow results, my 165 the stock gearing ratio was perfect on a fresh climb, and my belt temps were low. This past weekend.
Poaching a track I was seeing 1:1 at 60+ mph on a climb.
My sled probably could be geared faster for lower snow conditions.

Had a buddie get a top gear from the dealer, that was non-HYVO with a HYVO chain. Gear failed and took the chain case out. Your top gear doesn’t appear to swallow the chain correctly from pic? Or is just an optic thing.

That is what he is showing us… that the hyvo gear does not fit the stock chain properly.

As you saw in the video I sent you from last weekends ride; I was letting off and getting right back on the gas multiple times when climbing and my sled pulled the front end right back up and jumped right back to 8000 RPM and held it. Tried all day on different hills and it never missed a beat. I was wondering how it might react to the 22 tooth top gear as far as responsiveness and it worked very well. Taking into account of course that I have no stock components in my clutches. :gossip:

22 top gear works well in a 2022 G4T with powder lites clutching. 8000rpm on the numbers in various terrain on clicker 3.

Nice sled lift . Have the exact at same one . To bad they quit making them .
Nice build as well . Good upgrades for sure .
What lift is it? Is there anything comparable out there now? The one I have is absolute junk.

She is an old lift, I think it is 20 years old not sure of the brand name but I have seen a few being sold here and there, good luck finding one!

Will do. Thanks!

Getting a 24 turbo this season. Going to swap out the quick change drive axle for a solid 22 drive axle and do the avid drivers while doing it. Torsion spring spacers cause they’re so easy to do, especially while the skid is out, and then some basic/easy mods like finger throttle, rail braces, and munster kill switch and brake reservoir (the skidoo reservoir guard on the expert is too big and forces the brake lever too far into my hands, which places my fingers near the pivot of the lever). Clutching will be next season.

Very cool build you did! Did you stay stock in the drive axle or swap out or do Tki fix?

Look at powderfreaks drivers instead. They are round instead of octagonal.
