The worst is the big rig drivers with trailers wandering into the other lane , while texting.

Still waiting to see the 7 minute charge time after the drive from Lethbridge to red deer.

Maybe on Thursday
250kw charge rate is insane. 4kWh or 5% in one minute. Doesn’t hold that peak level for very long but it probably reduces charge time by 10minutes over a v2.

365 miles. 3.23 gallons.
113 miles/gallon
Total energy cost
95kWh / 0.89 (charging losses) 106.7 kWh
106.7 kWh x $0.20 = $21.34 of total energy used.
Golden supercharger
7 minute stop
$3.08
Canmore supercharger
18 minute stop
$8.40

Left revelstoke at 2:59 PM and got home at 9:38 PM. 6 hours and 39 minutes.

I didn't think you had to pay at the superchargers?????

Not like it's breaking the bank but I thought Tesla was offering it free

Model S/X are free supercharging.

Went on another short trip because I heard on snow and mud that you can’t go on long trips with an EV because you’ll get range anxiety...

What home chargers do you like? I was thinking that some must have setting to schedule a full charge just before leaving on a long trip etc. I would need one that is portable to take to our other place.

The car will come with a mobile charger (120v 50-60 hour charge time). Home chargers aren’t really very portable as they are usually mounted to the wall. Do you have a panel in your garage? Welding plug? Dryer plug?

I have a outdoor rv plug 40 amps I think.

That's awesome. Are you going to have the same plug at both locations? The Kona has a maximum of 10KW (48amps @ 240V) AC charging which is really good. Lots of the mobile charge cords that use a plug in will be limited to 32 amps (7.6KW still pretty good). An RV plug is NEMA 14-50P. One issue with most mobile chargers is that they are only good for one type of plug. The Tesla charger is nice because you can swap many different plugs on the end but you'd have to use an adapter. Here are a few j1772 mobile plug in chargers (not wall mount as I don't think that's what you want)...

Why are hybrids being totally skipped over right now. Why hasn’t that technology taken off, and everyone driving one at the moment? Did I miss something? Why the push for full electric?
