Haha. Certainly not :) I have been buying Nissans since 2004 as they have treated me very well maintenance wise. Apart from tires, I have only done oil changes every 8000 KMS so that probably only adds a cent or so per KM. In 300K I only do the brakes once (at about 150K) and new plugs and such. So I would have to add about another 2.5 cents per KM so about 8 1/3 to 10 cents per KM seems reasonable. Even if an EV cost the same per KM I will buy one next vehicle. I love the technology.

Nothing imaginary about them. I hope you enjoy the hell out of your car, you worked hard to get the money, use it how you want. You sure as $hit don’t need my approval as I’m sure you’ll agree. You’ve convinced yourself that it’s a good idea for you. Just don’t try convince us that it’s a good decision for everyone else, because for 99% of the people that don’t have the extra disposable income for a $60k toy with huge compromises, it’s not.

Well in the above post you said that you can’t charge above 80% (you can) and you can’t go below 10% (you can). I charge to 100% every time I do a road trip and there is nothing harmful about it. Now If you have a Chevy volt you pay for a 18kwh battery but it’s software locked to stay between 20%-80% so 40% of your battery is not usable. Should you get somewhere with 2% battery and leave it unplugged on a cold night? Absolutely not. The battery management system will show 0% battery slightly early so you would still have a couple miles left.
I’m not trying to have a narrative. For lots of people the cost of an EV might not make sense if they drive very few km per year in a brand that is reliable. An EV becomes more cost effective the more it’s driven. If the math doesn’t work out then you just have to face it. But if you’re looking at a vehicle for $50,000 and you want safety, efficiency, performance, technology, and low maintenance then you should definitely consider the Tesla model 3 or y. At least take one or any EV for a test drive yourself so you can experience it and form your own opinions about it instead of relying on what you hear or read in the media.

I want to get my wife an EV but it has to have same cargo space as her Honda Pilot. We live in the boonings so when we go to town and shop at costco it is filled right up. I know Tesla has a bigger vehicle than the model 3 but not really wanting to pay over 100G. There just doesn't seem to be any cheaper SUV out there yet.

Don't count on it, Amazon has already invested heavily in Rivian to build electric vans for them. The first models are supposed to be delivered to Amazon sometime this year.

70000 dollar car pulling 30000 sled and trailer and can’t afford a sled tarp

I assumed it was photoshop and no one was that stupid.....

Wow tough crowd..... Not sure about you but typically if I'm taking a picture of my toys I take the tarp off first....

This would be no different than hauling a sled on a single behind a little Subaru WRX which was my plan for a while, so long as you have the range..... Guess it will be a Legacy 3.6R now once the wife is done with it....

The point I’m making is the Tesla’s that make you feel warm all over are capable of those incredible numbers can only do it a very few times before they shut themselves off to prevent destroying the battery whereas the dodge hellcat can keep doing it until the tires are destroyed or it runs out of gas.
Like most of these green enviro-friendly systems they’re impressive only until you get into the details, then they prove to be the restrictive real world flops that they are.

Look up the Tesla information. The cars are only capable of a few high performance runs before they derate drastically or shut down altogether because of battery heating. Mercedes made an all electric car as well a few years ago. They featured it on top gear. In full performance mode it was only capable of running hard on the track for 9 minutes before it shut down.....that 1000 hp has to come from somewhere....
