I actually have had both and much prefer the 6.0L over the 7.3L. Though the 7.3 was great and reputable, it also had many issues.
My 7.3L got sold to my son when it had 400,000km and he drove it another 150,000. Basically the body fell off with rust before he sold it.
I could write a book on issues with the 7.3L or the 6.0L, neither were steller motors and you needed to be a Ford diehard to endure their issues.
The BIGGEST problem's with the 6.0L are the OWNER's.
My current F350 with the 6.0L now has 300,000km and by no mean's has it been more problematic then my 7.3L, just different. In fact it's quieter, smoother and has substantial more power then the 7.3L.
Eitherway, as diesel engines go, they really weren't great. BTW, i should inclued the 6.4L, cause its a POS, i'ed take both a 7.3 or 6.0 over a 6.4L.

BTW awesome photography by the poster. I don't get into auto photography but mostly do wild life. But i do recognize camera savvy and skill's. Good job.

Thanks.... vehicles aren't my typical subject... but when you spend an afternoon shining it up, I want to have proof lol. I like doing storm photography and lightning... so I'm stoked that storm season is almost upon us....

great looking cats!
Lucky enough to have my employer lease those two brand new for the winter time. 50 hours on both first time I hopped in. Ended up putting almost 1000 hours from December to March on the d8 and a few hundred hours on the 972M. Nice treat that's for especially since there was only 4 guys on the different shifts throughout the shift.

Love those trucks @Bezzola and @AreWeThereYet....... They could make some great photos. AreWeThereYet.... those shots would have been perfect candidates for bracketing.

Every Vehicle has their issues. Had a few of that vintage of Chevy. Fan motors for the heater fawked up in every one.

My newer Dodge has been pretty good. Knock on wood. The tailgate sucks though.

didnt you have a nice OBS ford with a flatdeck? I think some pics are required lol

I do indeed, '97 F-350 with just under 400,000kms. The stacks are capped now, new HD transmission and a few other mechanical repairs. Now it's onto the fun stuff, body work and re-doing the interior. :)
