These are copy videos of what other people have already done so who gives a fawk. This guy ain't got near the pockets of guys like Burandt, so why is this a thing, unless you wanna spend $50G's plus.... its a gutted stocker basically - needs more content I guess - cut off some parts....bolt on some parts and drill some holes? FFS, drilling holes in the pyramid is not the place to save a few grams - would have been better to cut 1" off the back of the skis or take the foam out of the seat or something.

174 with a cut cooler.....too bad he hasn't been sledding very long or he'd know...many others have tried already.....most notable - Cat tried putting smaller coolers like that on the HCR's and failed miserably.
I guess these guys just gotta learn on their own and that’s part of it. Like you said the pyramid is kind of important for the integrity of the steering is it not? Same with coolers. Chute climbing season is in the spring. Gonna be a long trip to the alpine with frozen trails and half the cooling that was inadequate for spring riding to begin with.

Muskoka will just get sled and gas helicoptered in and out… if you can get pizza and quick drive belts helicoptered in then this isn’t unreasonable..

its ok the skidoos run really cool as it is.:ROFLMAO:

he did say hes doing a carbon skid so that will shave some big weight

dawson is doing a 900 aswell, so likely will be faster than matts unless he throws a big tune at that doo

see which one lasts longer though thats what im most curious about

View attachment 283670View attachment 283671I thought muskokas sled was getting butchered but Dawson just might have him beat…. Not sure juice was worth squeeze on that project. He’s spending thousands on titanium parts and carbon fibre. He’s going to have $40000 into his boost.
check out the beating the bulkhead took from the exhaust rubbing. i bet he was going down on det about every 5 mins lol.

This is snow and mud. Im much more interested in Dawson drilling holes in his sled than burandt buying another million dollar snowmobile personally.

Youre not really a Revy guy? So maybe thats the difference.
Don't know what Revy has to do with it, lightweight sleds perform better anywhere, especially in areas that are a lot higher than Revy, above the treeline. Point was that unless they've got really deep pockets or a ton of sponsorship like CB , this is mostly what guys like Niner etc are already doing with their sleds (tunnel cuts, lightweight rotors etc). Its not as profound as one might think.

Point is i see these guys at the gas station and on the hill for years. And ive never met burandt and dont care about his sleds. Thats what revy has to do with it.

And who said it was profound? I think most of us here have built "mod sleds"....

I rode with Craig, a.k.a. Carbon daddy for years. Handmaid sleds built in his basement in Revelstoke. Real Revy guy. I understand what you’re saying. Also Lightweight helps, he built some cool high-performing sleds for a select few people in the early 2000s but those sleds were only cool till M8 turbo’s came out. Boost changed everything.

Freds was boosted. My other friends was an 880. Lots of nice $$$$ sleds in Revy. Those are 2 that popped into my head cause we are talking light weight.

These were circa 2016
