We had a huge glacier you get in under but they are always shifting and the opening is gone now. About the same time a young man slipped and fell in one of the other ice cave and died. Beautiful creations of nature.

Yeah its good riding up that way. Long drive though. A guy needs to bring a camper and stay up there for a few days.

Caves are cool for sure, this one was fairly big. Some of the smaller ones get pretty eerie to me tho. This one is down on the Rutherford glacier

For the masses Boulder and Frisby are the best choice: they have a cabin on Boulder that is a great place to drink beer all day like some do. Christ, in Frisby they have now groomed well past the trailhead ridge to save your back for whats coming I guess. 20 years ago I would have been all over a trip to that glacier but my knees and my riding talents have diminished enough that riding in those tight trees and rock gardens are not probably a good idea anymore. I’ll see my glacier when I ride Chatter this April I guess. That glacier in the video I will save for the young at heart. Lol

I had a bad experience sledding on a glacier once. I get really uneasy on them now to the point that people are like what’s your problem man
Ya it only takes once, won't see me back on one. Low light conditions caught us.

This is a glacier south of McBride. Other group of riders were putting on harnesses to go across in case they fell in. I knew then I was out of my element.
This is very close to where Ron fell in and I had to pull him out.
The last person to go to the bottom of a crevasse at this location was in 2003, I believe.
About 75 deep.
Bare ice glaciers give me the creeps and tis is about a 5x8km chunk of ice.

He rides some amazing area's thats for sure. I think he likes that no one knows where they are. I have yet to see any of his video's in those massive glacier areas with tracks in front of his group.
There's been a few times watching his videos where I've thought "Hey, I know exactly where that is", or we've been out exploring new to us zones and I've thought "Hey, this looks exactly like a spot Muskoka Matt was". Definitely some out of the way areas. Looking forward to exploring and finding more myself. So much out there that's off the beaten path.

you never know where you'll find yourself, always remember where you've been.

Google earth is so cool, seeing trails from a heli POview was pretty expensive 20 yr's ago.

This ice formation is just weird. very cool.
Super cool. That’s the hole the melt water entered in the summer. Had a wicked drift around it. The blue ice tunnel photo is where the water flowed out. 60 yards long for sure. I went back 2 years later. It was all gone. I have more shots somewhere in my computer.

Check out this chunk. Appears to have broke off and rolled down to where it’s sitting. Brought a little down to mix up a few whiskies in the trailer.
