Hello ladies. I just picked up my first muff pott and gave it a try, and was not so very impressed. I was trying to warm small pizza subs and they barely were toasty warm. I know some of you ladies can whip up some awesome meals for them that i have read on this site, what am i doing wrong. Please help.:rant:

AND FELLAS, anyways we can cook too dear. Parchment paper is a must & we all put ours on at the start of the morning. Cheese smokies / pepperoni / shrimp / dry ribs are some of our fav's but have even done left over lasagna Deliciscious!!!

Did you mount the muff pot directly on the pipe or is there insulation in between? Has to be mount directly and closest to the engine. Also block any hood openings that can allow snow or wind at the pot. Mine cooks hotdogs wrapped in foil in 20 minutes.

What kind of sled are you riding? Useful info as someone will be able to recommend a better mounting location based on your sled.

Im sorry, i should have not forgotten the men too. My bad.

The sled is a 2006 summit 600 with a can. We did not have it directly on the pipe actually. It was on the wide part of the can. I could see how this wouldnt get as hot as the pipe. Will definitely move it. I also have a couple vents close to it so that probably isnt helping. Is parchment paper better than tin foil? I was probably only riding a couple hours when i went to eat it too.

I use parchment inside foil eliminates metallic taste from foil.

never used parchment paper, we use oven turkey bags, tie the top tight, no mess no fuss. have also used chicken oven bags and have also seen burger bags. anything greasy or wet stays in the bags, not sure how parchment paper works to seal the juices in, when ya bounce around or tip over.

Good advice above, and you need to do a couple of decent pulls full throttle to get the pot hot enough, the trail doesn't cut it! I use parchment paper to get things crispy, and turkey raosting bags for anything wet. If you have venting above the pot you can make a little shield for the top of the pot using a starter blanket. You can buy them at Lordco.

and a picture of the largest lemon garlic shrimp that took only 10 minutes to cook from frozen to delicious. Cut into pieces and dip into homemade seafood cocktail sauce (1/4 cup of Ketchup, tablespoon of creamed horseradish, dash of lemon, dash of Lea & Perrins, and a dash of tabasco).

I am feeling like a slow learner here because today I used foil again, and cooked the wennies nicely, except they definately had a black tinge to them. Talked to the wife and she said "parchment paper". I remember hearing that so that or maybe better yet the roasting bags are the only way I will be dooing the riding and cooking in the future. Bad on me because I though you people were all crazy...wrapping things in wax paper to cook..yucky. "Parchment" was the key word. Who woulda known? Honest I can cook.

On my XP I cut away the heat shield just before the can. I closed up the vent holes close by too. To transfer heat to the pot, I took a roll of tin foil, pulled out the cardboard and pounded it flat, folded it over and pounded it even more to make a heat transfer pad. I placed that between the pipe and pot.

wrap the food in the parchment paper, then in tin foil.... keeps the black tinge off your food!

I have a 2012 HCR 800 with an MBRP stinger on it. And really the only place to mount the thing is right on the stinger itself it's too compact in there for anything else. The mount is burn your skin hot but the hot pot itself is like .. Room temperature. Anyone got some better ideas on where to mount the hot pot on the new kitty cats?
