You must like Teen Burgers. A&W is awesome in Valmont. Revy = 30+ Restaurants not just Zalas but never had a bad pizza at Zalas yet.

No argument on pizza... Didn't have one this summer!! Yes lots of excellent places to eat in Revy!! I'm just making my point..

For as expensive Revy is, everyone likes it still. Or this thread wouldn't have 11 pages in 9 days lol.

Price you gotta pay to play, you want the status to say you were in Revy, or ride the famous area's.

Like others said, travel to less popular area's, but myself, I'm just happy to get out sledding where ever.

I guess that's the price you have to pay to ride with local legends or be seen with all the pro athletics that seem to hang out there. I sure hope I can fit into the caliber of sledder that seems to go there.

Here is some one that has been brained washed by BS video's. I've sledded Revy before most of you knew about Revy or even mountain sleds. I have yet to meet those super legends in Revy. Video's have a way of being edited, anyone can be that legend with the right editor and BS talk. LOL
Don't worry you'll fit right in there with all those supers.

That is one of the biggest reasons I ride Revy.
Always Good people to ride with, even mid week.

That's the reason this thread started, Revy has no lack of people wanting to be there. Even with the high cost of going to Revy, you can go solo and ride any day of the week with people. High cost or not, the cost of snowmobiling in Revelstoke is directly related to the people that go there. As more flock to Revy the more the price of everything goes up.
So if your a single rider looking to ride with someone or don't have a partner that rides with you, Revy is the idea place to be.

So what's your point? Awful harsh on the guy. He just likes the idea that he might meet one of those great riders. Just because you don't care about guys in videos doesn't mean someone else won't enjoy that moment. Obviously lots of people enjoy watching the guys in videos otherwise they wouldn't sell any.

You have ridden with some big name riders over the years, you could have even had the chance to been recognized as such.

Revy has an allure about it. Talk to guys out East and their goal is to someday ride Revy. It's not the be all to end all to people like you who ride it before it was called Revy but regardless in Canada can you name a larger snowmobile attraction? Some areas are gaining more recognition but I would think Revy still tops them all.

My thought or point was anyone can ride Revelstoke, you don't need any special skills to do so.
And yes Revy attract all types including the camera man. But so do many other areas, Revy is just a percent of film's.
Your correct though, Revy has this special recognition for it.
I have and occasionally still do, i know how most is highly edited and i never had a desire to be on film. Sledding is for me alone, my escape not for the public.

And I understand supply and demand, its not really a hard concept...

Revy rules!

The amount of money generated in Revelstoke due to snowmobiling is second to none in Canada. It is a great feeling for a lot of people from all across Canada, to be able to participate in this great place. The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club has done a great job and continues to go a great job of promoting Boulder and Frisby.

It just seems that all ski towns are expensive!

Supply and demand. If you owned one of the motels and had reservations for the next six months would you discount?

well thanks for the kind words. I'm going to try and get out to Boulder at least as it seems the easiest to meet up with someone to ride. I know I will have a steep learning curve but I'm up for the challenge. As to hotel's, it is what it is, as outdoors people are finding out about Revy apparently from all over the world according to my boarder friends. Hope to meet up lilduke as he seems to be a cool neutral guy!

Well I was giving it a college try and phone around Revy for rooms... Kind of a funny story. Years ago from 96-98 we were loyal to the Mountview so I thought I would call there. The gentlemen answered and discussed rates.. $75 for single & $85 for 2 people. That is a great rate however some of us may know the past condition of the place... So I asked the fella "just wondering if you have renovated and upgraded beds"... Very ok question I think to ask. His response "I don't think you would be happy here call another place" and hung up phone!! ...

In that situation step #1 is to call your fellow hotel owners and agree not to build any more hotel space. Step #2 is to deliver some envelopes of cash to city council members and ask them not to allow any more hotel space. It's working well in Prince Albert SK and Regina SK.

Which is weird, cause who, in their right mind, wants to travel to either of those two places. 😉

In them hills.
A few years ago we went to ski white water with a group of friends and we rented a whole.house for the 7days and I think the bill was about $1200, and they had really good snow there.

Never looked into sledding there but this has me thinking now.

It's junk. Not very high elevation and warm valleys.

Plus the locals with let the air out of your tires. David Suzuki owns everything on the West side. No motorized vehicles allowed.
