Called days inn and best western to set up this winters trips in advance, was blown away how much prices have risen over last year..

days inn was 119 last year, this year 160, best western last year was 129, this year is 175.. They want twenty nights prepaid in advance to get these rates on a single room. No more sledding rates..

Prices like that that make a guy look around or find alternate places to ride.. Kalispel Montana is much cheaper to ride in all aspects..

maybe one or a group of guys should be looking for a house rent/ duplex for the winter.. If I had a spot for the fifth wheel it could work

any ideas from others??

Fred, try the Best Western in Sicamous. I just checked and for 2 queen beds, Dec 18th to Dec 23rd it is $116.99/night.
I stayed there once a few years back and the beds are very comfortable

I think it's more critical around Christmas as a lot of people hit the hills at that time

There is a portion of people who are snowbirds and places are available. There is fellow on this forum that works over sea's that spend's three months of the winter here that goes that route. Is the hike at the day's Inn only for the silly season or all winter long.

Fred just buy a place here, rent it out for 500$ a night when ur not around. Or park your fifth wheel at smokey bear, 600$ a month all in.
Power, water, sewer, wifi, hot tub and a work shop. Plus a bunch of kick azz sledder guys stay there already, meet some rippers& up ur game a bit.
The owner Clayton is good chit. Just a idea for you.

Do like the idea of using the fifth wheel, how secure is the smokey lake campground, will snow threw out winter be plowed, or is there work needed on my behalf to get to trailer? Is there room for sled trailers on site..
