I think BC, or canada would of fall apart if NDP got majority.

All the boys working "at site" would be going back fishing, out in BC the forestry workers and miners could get jobs at Timmies and Starbucks.

It's estimated that if Harper didn't get back in, our area would stand to lose approximate 4 billion dollars in our area over the next 4 years. No expansion at Cold Lake CFB.

I think it's good to see NDP gain seats like that, but getting in power would be a death sentence, I would HOPE it would show PC that they need to run things proper or they will end up like the liebrals and get devastated next election. But in the scheme of things, NDP don't got ch!t for say in ANYTHING, which is good. Although I don't see how many people could vote for NDP. All they want to do is raise taxes, how else would you pay for all that stupid ch!t they want?

Give lower taxes and let people fend for themselves. You don't work you don't deserve anything.

Sweet, now Harper can focus on driving up the defecit he created when he first took power. Bring on the 'new' fighter jets and super jails. One step closer to being the 53rd state.

If we become the 51st state then we won't have to buy fighter jets, the American inventory now becomes ours.:d

I wonder how many of the bleeding hearts out there are happy with Russian bombers still violating our airspace to this day? Aren't they supposed to be our allies? Previous Liberal governments have decimated our military inventory and now it is time to replenish our aging fleet with new machinery. That is our responsibility if we wan't to be a soverign nation. Or do we want more American influence that you guys don't like to protect us because we cannot protect ourselves?

Agreed. And to comment further on the bleeding hearts who just don't get it. Yes we need jails. The Liebral idea of punishing criminals with house arrest is absolutely ridiculous. Yes the USA put their criminals in jail and what the hell is wrong with that. This stupid business of treating our incarcerated with BBQ on the deck, internet, birthday passes. That's BS man. Bring on the jets and jails. I'll gladly pay taxes for that as opposed to MORE free handout to the bums who don't want to work.

I know how we could solve a few problems all at once. Super jails in the far north , we're talking way up there a few spread out between CFS Alert and Tuktoyaktuk, Don't even need to fence them in. Who's gonna want to test our soverienty when they have to deal with our trash, don't need guards, the polar bears from Churchill can be relocated close to the prisons to keep the inmates contained and if the cons try to escape the bears eat them( this would be the perfect way to sneak in the reinstatement of capital punishment without the bleeding hearts even knowing), air drop the food and supplies to the cons now and then, and then a few new fighters flying over just to make sure the trash is behaving. This can all be funded by the scrapping of the incredibly expensive and useless long gun registry that does nothing to protect people. Problems solved......

Don't forget happy to see the retarded Bloc get destroyed, think quebec is finally wiseing up......

Time for him to walk the walk now.

Not sure which is best.Jack Jack did not have big success in Ontario.
We have to see later.
One thing however, it is a good thing to see Duceppe go.

I only hope that we will not see him back elsewhere.

I personally dont see a whole lot of change. Once elected they treat the house of Parliament as a seniors home as they seem to get Alzheimer's after the elections. :d:d

problem with the prisons in the far north is staffing them and prisinor transportation costs.....

I feel we are way too easy on our convicted felons but we have to consider the lifestyle and safety of the prison staff.... unfortunately we would never be able to get away with a unstaffed dump in situation.

A lot of money could be freed up by imposing creative sentenses for non-violent, white collar and minimum secutity prisionors, work camps, community betterment etc...

Far as the high risk, 3 strike, dangerous fellons further isolation with no priviledges such as visitation, cable, schooling, communications etc could be done but it could not be so isolated as to punish staff... some people deserve to die no matter what the bleeding heart rights activists say... Karla Holmolka is free and living in Ontario with a young child concieved in the prison system, after the suffering and torture her and Paul Bernardo inflicted on minors niether of them deserve to walk this earth

Young offenders do not fear the justice system knowing that the system will ensure thier rights and allow them to serve minimal time in a comfortable setting....

This Sir is exactly the problem in our society today.

In regards to how a prison should work. I remember learning about a prison in the US several years ago where they make the prisoners work on a daily basis doing gardening and tending to livestock. The prison grows and sells vegetables and meat and uses the money to pay for staffing and well to run the prison. They said the prisoners were well behaved and much more happier because they didn't have idle hands. They were busy every day doing stuff. I think this is an excellent idea.
