Hey everyone I just got myself a new 07 m1000. What are some tips or tricks that you guys use to make them go good. I am planning on venting the clutches, handle bar risers, and a BDX air intake. I already got a MBRP can. I won't have the cash right now for camo x 2.5" but that will happen soon! Any help will be great thanx!

How far do you want to go on "tweaking" the M1? They work really well when set up properly, I even have a few goodies that may interest you. PM scrapmaster, he bought my M1K (it was an 07), he may share the sled setup with you, or shoot me a PM & I'll try to remember the details (I kept a journal & sold it with the sled, do that with every machine I've owned).

I had an 08 m1 2 years ago and in my opinion the best thing I done was put a camo ex on it. I had speedwerx pipe, y pipe, mbrp can, vforce reeds, speedwerx intake, and rktek 14:1 head. I loved it. Had loads of torque. I think I will eventually own another m1000 yet I loved them so much. I'd still have it if I didn't pile it into a tree at revy and smash it up.... Lol.

Call Mountain Magic in Edmonton, the M1's rock when dialed in but have a few issues that must be dealt with first, one is engine mounts they have too much torque and break them regularly. Second is they suggest run regular fuel yes regular 87 octane. One old fart knows his stuff too take him up on that offer.

I also had a 07 M1 that worked very well. My DD gernaded so I geared down 1 size & went with BDX lite without reverse. Speedwerx kit & RKT head with a 3" 162 track. Belt life was good for 1500 km's. Boondocker #'s play a big part in the set up as well. I don't have my sled any more but you can give Glen at Spindrift Motorsports a call & he will get your sled dialed to perfection. My riding group always figured I had a big bore kit which was not the case, have fun with your M1, I sure did.

Venting is a must, don't do an aftermarket intake just get some flow rites for the stock air box , check and update DD bearing and the mods your talking about you will need a fuel control box

I got a powerclaw on mine and that was a huge upgrade over the camo that came on my 08 and they seem to come up fairly often on here for decent price.

Yah I see a few on here and kijiji just waiting for one cheap near Leduc. Got a y pipe on the way, making a handle bar riser, and some frog skins to add to the stock intake.

SLP pipe and Y pipe and an MBRP can. Some claim that you loose a couple of horse power by not using the can that came with the SLP pipe but I didn't notice it. Boyesen Rad valves. I have the V force reeds but they were chipping on me so I went with the Rad vavlves. 3° advance timing key and PCV with the auto tune. Had a Boondocker box but had issues with it so I went to the Power commander. I kept taking out the stoke helix so I went with the RKTek clutch kit with a 38/36 helix and Hard rock rollers. I left the stock air box but installed an SLP billet air horn and cut in a couple of SLP intake screens.

I used a 2" square tubing for a 2" riser and it has worked awesome and was free in the metal bin. Just drilled it to fit the stock mounting holes and bolted it in between the column and the bar.

before you go anywhere with a m1000 make sure you reinforce the tunnel where the steering post attaches they all seem to crack there and the front cooler is part of the tunnel so if you weld the crack make sure you don't melt through the cooler there is an aftermarket bracket that you can use not sure who has it
