Saving coupons..... WTF? Kinda like saving pop bottle cap liners to spell SKI-DOO, accept the pop is a new sled....... Sounds more like a pain in the Donkey than a benefit for a club....IMO. Nice run around BRP....

like i said before if you buy from BRP you paid for it twice the company has received more money from the liberal [jerks] than any other in canada as for what polaris has done they support the womens cancer ride i believe zaks tracks also got a new sled for their avalanche program the other manufactures make just as good if not better product so if snow and mud members boycott these brp jerks products including there atvs we can sit back and watch there sales fall together we can do more harm than just ranting about it

I'am by no means trying to dispute your above post.
But the sad reality of it is that...........Another brown envelope will be exchanged to save their azzes. Canada Post, Air Canada and Ski-Dont have written their own Government Cheques.
Our best out come is if FUJI writes them a cheque and Yamaha buys them out:eek:

I don't think that you need to purchase anything, just get a coupon and take it to a BRP dealership and tell them what club you are with.... We get trail development money from them, just don't get a chance for the free sled for your club to raffle off to raise more money(which sucks).

Valcourt, Québec, July 28, 2008 – As part of its 50 year-celebration, BRP and its Ski-Doo® dealers will donate up to $1 million dollars to Canadian snowmobile clubs for snowmobile trails through the Ski-Doo Million Dollar Club Support Program. Regardless of the brand they own, every Canadian snowmobiler will be able to participate in this fundraising program.

For each snowmobiler submitting a certificate at their Ski-Doo dealership, BRP will donate $10 to their snowmobile club through the program. Program certificates will be available in all Canadian snowmobile magazines, at fall snowmobile shows, and on ski-doo.com. An advertising, public relations and direct mailing campaign will also be launched to reach every Canadian snowmobiler.

“Launching a grassroots funding campaign to benefit clubs is a natural fit with our 50th anniversary celebration because Ski-Doo was right there at the beginning to help establish the very first organized snowmobile trails in Canada,” said Alain Villemure, vice-president and general manager of the Ski-Doo / Sea-Doo division. “We've always recognized and appreciated the hard work our clubs and volunteers carry out on snowmobile trails — and how important those trails are for the safety of the sport.”

Thanks Summiteer for bringing this to our attention. I have dealt with BRP before and unfortuntally I have to agree with the logic behind their decision to look at AB and BC differently. The opportunity for trail fun raising is still there. I know that BRP will not leave the west out of the picture by no means. We still have no info on what is involved in the media package offer. As disappointing as it, is it still $1 million more than what the other manufactures do to help the clubs builtup the sport. Polaris is another Manufacture that has a $ program for the provincial/State associations. With this snowmobile that will be offered many strings come attatched to it as well. So not as much of a GIFT as some will want but it is still for the eastern provinces.
Alberta and British Columbia has a different type of trail networks because of our closeness to the mountains. It is hard to get the snowmobilers to focus on trail networks and interconnecting trails linking communties and areas when our snowmobilers have a very quick access to mountain riding. I am involved in the snowmobile trails in the Fort Saskatchewan area and find that when the snow is good at home we have extra sledders but most of them only ride at home when the snow is beter than normal. Most of the riding they do is in the mountains and don`t want to get involved in helping out around their home area. Help such as joining a club, helping as a volunteer, purchase a trail pass and so on. Don`t get me wrong many members on this site are mountain riders and help by helping out but the majority of hardcore riders of snowmobiles in AB sled in BC only. That leaves a fewwer amount of riders doing the majority of the trail network building. Now with fewer helpers the trail connections dont happen. Therfore we dont get into the program fully. It sucks but AB and BC are not Trail building Provinces.
If this program really bothers you talk to your dealer tommorow and let them know. Your dealer probally has some answers for you or some help to explain the program. I know I`m not selling my Ski-Doo for this reason and buying from a manufacture that does nothing to help support trail support in CANADA. In my opinion $1 million dollars is a lot of help to Canada Snowmobile Trails. Lets be happy we get that at least it makes me want to go riding in the East to see how it will be spent. Thats it my  is over. So those that thing BRP still isnt helping the recreation of snowmobiling in Canada go ask your manufacture what THEY do to support the building of snowmobile trails in CANADA

The trans canada snowmobile trail goes thru both of those provinces.. And what that means that the summit series of sleds that sell dont cont for there sales or we justaren't important over here to them or what???? Our snowmobile clubs over here couldn't use some donated money to upgrade trails cabins and stuff like that.. I think that the snowmobile clubs over here are just as important as the ones out east, if not more so.. You just look at what the clubs go thru over here to just keep riding area's open, if those area's aren't open for people to ride then why buy a summit if you can't ride it anywhere... So yah i think we are just as important as any club in the east... My two cents..

I've been involved in some major advertising campaignes and they rely on the info they are given. We have nothing for trails compared to Manitoba East...that's just a fact. Glen, it's like trying th have a successful "mountain only" shop in Sask...not much business.

What I think we can do is complain to every Doo dealer we can. We do deserve a cut of the pie but they won't listen unless we tell them. I stopped into Martin today and complained. They told me they were not happy either and would relay my concerns...don't believe they will unless others complain too.

So everyone need to stop in and complain or do as sumiteer did send an e-mail. If you don't you have no right to complain further.

Just my 2 cents

Sumiteer...what's the e-mail address so we can flood them.

Thanks, my e-mail has been sent.

Having read your press release I was very disappointed to see the statement I have noted below.

I am an Alberta rider and own a Ski-Doo Rev. I belong to the Fort Saskatchewan Snow Angles and ride our trails.
I understand that our trail mileage is less than in Western Canada but I'm surprised your company left us Westerners completely out of the program. I feel we in the West support your effort to supply snowmobiles and in turn I feel it's only fair that you support our Club Trail Systems.

Please reconsider your standing on this program.

The top club in each of the following regions: Quebec, Ontario, Atlantic Provinces (New-Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador), Saskatchewan, and Manitoba will receive a limited 50th anniversary edition of a 2009 Ski-Doo MX Z snowmobile to use for additional fundraising activities.

Sorry Glen- that is almost as lame a response as BRP's. The fact is that many Alberta mountain sledders are still buying trail passes and club memberships from BC clubs when they go out to Sicamous, Revy, McBride etc - clubs are still being supported - just not 'at home' ones.

No one else is doing anything????? Anyone that watched Snowmobiler tv saw Randy Swenson giving mountain riding tips put on by Yamaha - You can't tell me that Yamaha isn't doing good pr work in the west to support sledding and it's development. Randy appearing on tv, spending time at trade shows with corporate Yamaha and featured in sledding movies is going to attract more new people to the sport of snowmobiling than any other manufacturer. Also the fact is that cleaner tech 4 strokes are going to bring more people into the sport - again Yamaha leads the way.

I don't know Glen - there is alot more to attracting people into sledding than just building interconnecting trail systems and Skidoo has really slighted the AB/BC clubs.

As far as i'm concerned trail riding is boring.. As well on the trails they have speed limits and such.. One of the reasons i love riding in the hills is the fact that the speed limit is my abilities and common sense.. Not some goverment athority..

So I found the link on the BRP site to get the coupon. Of course you can't fill it out because the 'province' space is a drop down and Alberta and BC are not part of the available selections. I've looked on the Canadian online magazines and can't find anything. I guess they don't need our money from sled sales either.....That sucks, 'cause I like their sleds...

But all you dudes and gals from points east should fill out as many of these as possible and get them to a Doo dealer to raise money for your clubs.
