I have done the BRP floating secondary and it’s a great upgrade. Plus it’s nice to be able to pull the clutch off without taking the chain/gear off.

one thing im worried about with the brp one is i have seen some failures on them. im a little hesitant to put the brp one in because i dont want to have any issues with the insert coming out. I am not sure if this is actually an issue or not or some guys just had bad luck.

I haven’t had any issues or heard of any failures. Are you talking the threaded bolt that holds the clutch on the shaft?

I put the doo doctors floating clutch on my 09 XP. Worked so good, i am running it on my '15 boosted XM right now. I would recommend it to anyone. not sure he is still doing it anymore but worth the cash.

yea well i already bought this team tied set up.. buut im not so sure it will work in my xm... seems like the shaft is not long enough for the secondary to line up with the primary. he says it came out of an 11 etec so the shaft should be able to work in the xm from what i can find for info on the internet.

i must be missing part then because theres a good half inch of space between on the shaft between the splined secondary and the stop on the shaft to be somewhere close to where the belt should be straight. it straight up doesnt look rite.

dumb question, but do you have the spacer installed behind the top sprocket? It is designed to "float", I have a good 3/8 of an inch play in mine and haven't blown a belt in 7 years, no bullsh*t

I went to visit my budddies as specialty and looks like i was missing the spacer that goes behind the secondary. they told me i dont actually need it because it will just sit where the belt wants it on the shaft. so ive put a for shims behind it just to make the gap a little smaller and i added some shims to the float plug. Looks like it should work. i guess well see lol. finger crossed.

the spring is black and purple, and the helix is a 60 - 62 reverse i beleive. i dont have it in from of me so i cant remember. But they said it was what they ran in their turbos xms for years... there was also mention of a straight cut 49 as well. im not sure what would be better. This thing is new to me. what were you running?

I ran a straight 57-59 with black white, (160-260). primary was aerocharger ramps aero spring heavy hitter arms and lots of weight. That was the best setup I could find. I tried four different helixes, straight, reverse, progressive, different combinations, got every spring venom offers for the tied, was never satisfied, could still roast a belt in no time. Hope it works out better for you than me. the turbo ran flawless forever, the clutching and driveline drove me insane. Was better than stock but not much.

well now your making my second guess myself. the reason i wanted one was because its supposed to be far superior to the qrs. I hope it works cause its a pain in the rear end to remove that shaft to put a floating qrs in. ive got high hopes so i guess well see. im running a boost it kit at 5-6 lbs with 19.6 grams pin weight 438 ramps and their primary spring. the first gates belt i have lasted about 100km and blew a WOT. so i checked the reeds and found one hurt one and i put this team kit in hoping that it makes my belt problem go away. cause wen its running it so freakin awesome. I also found that my engine torque stop needed to have .02in clearance as stated in the owners manual. when i first bought the sled first thing i did was bottom it out. it specifically says in the manual that without this clearance clutch damage can occur so ive since put that back to spec. hopefully that helps as well.

The product and design is great, not much support on setup, the clutch gurus wont touch them, so really all you have is specialtys setup or maybe mountain magics, I dont even think mountain magic does the tied just the tss04. I know i was loosing 10mph on the top end and could never get rid of the belt slip on wot. Once you find the magic unicorn calibration all will be well and it will work, personally I would set your belt alignment under load and run joeys turbo ramps and helix. At least he can help you with calibration to get the best out of it. I wanted the tied to work so bad but I couldnt get it calibrated. I couldnt dedicate days for tuning in the mountains, run one day change it at home go to the mountains have a crap ride come home do it all over again ect. The easy part of running turbos is the turbo part, tying it all together is the challenge
