It seems to depend on the day you go to the dealer if you will get a good price, or the runaround. Made a deal on a 5500 today, provided they can get me the financing terms I want. $80k sticker, $56k+taxes and fees pretty happy with the deal, and that's giving me $6k for my trade, which is generous they will be losing a few bucks on it. Only bummer is my work truck will be nicer then my run around truck, thing is loaded with just about every option. Will pull the gooseneck a lot better though.

What does going 5500 over 3500 get you? I've heard bigger brakes, there must be more though.

Lots... diffs, springs, gear ratios. engine is derated to have higher gvwr. It is essentially a 2 ton vs a 1 ton.

Yep everything is just heavier but with the same cab, bigger fuel tanks about 275l total, longer frame is really nice too, putting an 11'6" deck on it. GVW is 19,500 so huge difference from a 3500. Oddly though cannot get a sunroof in them (not that I want one anyway). They are designed to be loaded 100% of the time whereas a 3500 is not.

FFS why is any dealer incapable of doing a deal without lying out their a$$. Just got phone call from dealer you're all approved based on terms agreed to yesterday. Confused I say there was no terms agreed to, it was terms that are acceptable to me. So I ask what's the interest rate? I can't tell you over the phone due to privacy reasons. First time ever hearing that BS, I know it's not true, they just want me to come in and sign my life away not caring what the terms are, not happening. Dealer before I almost bought from lied to me about my credit report, trying to say it was bad, lying to me about my actual score and saying "I was lucky to be getting approved in the first place". Viewed it myself and of course it was all BS.

This is after they told me yesterday they were going to be honest and straightforward to earn the business and were not happy with how they acted before. So frustrating that buying a vehicle is always a ****ty experience.

Finally picked up the truck, make the dealer work for the deal and pretty happy, well with the truck anyway, not the BS of trying to buy it. Brand new Laramie for a touch under $58k all in. Need a bigger garage now, frigging thing is long going to need to remove racking to have more room for it.

So for the guys saying that warranty is voided by doing the delete- is that just a Ram thing or what? Unless it it provable beyond a doubt that the delete caused the failure, they can't decline your warranty. You have as much risk losing your warranty by abusing the stock vehicle.

I've heard the new Ram unlimited engine warranty policy are kinda tricky- including service schedules, etc. Maybe that's what's meant??

If you deleted your diesel and something in your power train fails it will be difficult getting it covered unless you have a dealership that lies to the manufacturer.
Pretty easy to say more power from engine increases load on powertrain and causes failure, thus no warranty on that item.

Warranty is not voided and is case by case.
