Put mine mounted where the two middle rivets are on the snowflap Dale. Swapped out the rivets for 2 small bolts with nyloc nuts. Better than on the tunnel and doesnt look that bad.
Well he is not correct about the AB requirements. Which is why I keep a laminated copy of page 10 from the AB OHV regulation in my tunnel bag.
Licence plates18
(1) The Registrar must issue an off-highway licence plate for anoff-highway vehicle if the Registrar issues a certificate ofregistration for the off-highway vehicle.
(2) The Registrar must issue off-highway vehicle licence plates inthe number and of the type and colour approved by the Minister.
(3) The owner of an off-highway vehicle must attach the licenceplate issued under subsection (1) securely to the front or rear of theoff-highway vehicle so that the licence plate is clearly visible.
As far as the location of my plate. If required it meets the regs.
Not a great pic but it's exact size of my plate. On left side of tunnel. No drilling cause it's a sticker. Can someone tell me why this is good enough? I'm starting to wonder if this really has to do with the caribou.
Big Nasty, you just won't give in will you! Hah! Law says it has to be mounted in BC, I don't see many people driving around without plates on their trucks, same law applies so don't know why you wouldn't adhere to the one with sleds, somewhat baffling. Contrary to what others have said about mounting it on the snow flap, mines been there and I've ripped and stripped pretty much whatever when sledding this season and it's still there! Not sure why its such a big deal to fasten it there, but that's sledders! Well, some of them..........
Thought if you moved to bc you were exempt from taxes when registering vehicles including sleds???Don't get me started Sherm! Lol. I have lost a plate on my pro ( The trees really like my sled) and cost me 54$ to replace it. Plus its a long ways to get a replacement in Alberta. At least I have it registered. lol. This next statement is opening up another can of worms but I'm bored at work so here it goes, Why are OHV's different then personal vehicles? I could Transfer over a 2014 Acura SUV that was bought in Alberta to BC without paying PST but cant with my 2015 Skidoo I bought the same yr. Sorry I'm not paying 1000$ To transfer now and get a plate for BC. Just another tax grab! My opinion only. Its registered and insured in Alberta which is where I spend more then Half a yr. And plate is in tunnel bag till I have to pay a fine.
This is one of those "no win" scenario's when it comes to posts! We're all gonna do what we're gonna do, and so be it. Just don't be the whinny whinner if and when you get a coupon for not displaying it properly, that's all. I still believe in the registration system as a means to track down and recover stolen sleds, it obviously isn't much of a deterrent for those stealing them, but then dirt bags will be dirt bags and that's who they'll wind up selling them to. If you want to talk about tax grabs, here in BC when we now buy a used car/truck we have to pay PST, again, whereas in previous years we only had to pay the GST, now that's a spanking! I'll inspect your sled for that plate next time we're out Big Nasty, make sure its clean!!!

Pretty but not legal in Alberta.
He mounted it for BC; front, back, or left side.......................I don't see a problem!
You missed my sarcasm Dan..............
I don't know why it matters from bc to Alberta whether it's an actual plate or sticker as long as you have the actual registration that matches the plate, the serial number on the sled and your picture Id. I'm from Alberta and I just got a sticker made that is an actual picture of the plate and the same size because I also do not want to drill holes in my tunnel. Just as an extra measure I carry the actual plate in my tunnel bag.
