I heard that every case of beer Kokanee sells they donate a dollar to close quad trails. They say the quads ruin the creeks and rivers they get the water for there crap beer (jmo). Since i heard this i thought i would let the rest of the riders know so we dont support there cause.

Personally, I don't see how it could be true only because there is no business value in giving money to a cause like that. It's not even good publicity.

Regardless, I'd love to hear more and if anyone has any facts or proof they could share on this matter I will definitely dig into it.

But I can vouch for the awesomeness of Keystone! That stuff is dangerously good. Can someone explain why there are still Lucky drinkers out there?

Ya I'm not saying its 100 percent but what I heard I couldn't see it being good for business but again there are a lot of people against our idea of fun and they might just drink beer as well. I have been searching for more on it but can't find anything other then these guys from creston telling me this.

They may donate a buck from every case to some environmental organization, that organization may in turn spend money supporting closing our terrain.
It's like Mountain Equipment Co-op, they don't go and spend money to close sledding areas, but they support organizations that want to limit motorized access and lobby government about the environment.

I also heard that Anheiser-Busch was one of the leading supporters of marijuana prohibition, and spent millions lobbying US government.

Sounds like an internet rumor to me and shouldn't have been posted without some form of verification.

I live 50 mi from the brewery and know that a lot of thier employees are dedicated and responsible riders. I don't think they'd work for someone trying to eliminate thier sport/hobby.

The United Way also spreads donated money to 3rd party charities that want to take away firearms.

What would you say if you knew the manufacturer of your quad donated to United Way or a group that advocated eliminating trails - like Trans Canada Trail - a group that wants some quad trail turned into Hiking Only?

Then I would say YOU need to research where your money goes, and not mine. I have contacted the United Way voicing my concern about such advocacy groups and the wastefulness of donated funds.

They know my opinion and chose not to respond to me, nor many others.

Its just something that I found interesting and others find interesting and something that I'm trying to find more out about. So if it hurts anybodys feelings that's just to dam bad I guess cause it hurts my feelings when polaris riders think their quads are better then can ams but they have no proof and shouldn't post it without evidence.

Has nothing to do with anyone being against our idea of fun.. there's a pretty heated convo going on about this in another thread about Bruderhiem Access and closures... whether or not this rumor is true, there are very important reasons why people are trying to shut down ATV areas. Not saying i'm all for it, but I understand why...and I feel its important to learn the facts so we can all change certain habits and behavoirs to help preserve our riding areas.

Personally, it really angers me when I see a bunch of people ripping and playing in rivers/creeks, if your simply crossing it to get to a trail fine...but when I see tons of people on the ATV's ripping up and down playing in them, allowing all kinds of filth, not just mud or dirt..but greases, oils, chemicals etc from the machine into the water.. i'm sorry but I do not condone that...that is an ecosystem that many plants, animals and even humans rely on... it's not just a beer company that is affected by it. Just my two cents....
