My original post was simply stating that with the original recall they obviously had identified a problem as you could physically see a difference between the original parts and the replacement parts.

However, to simply lump together the original recall and all of the failures since then is too convenient. Is there a problem, yes. Is that problem related to the original recall, no. I've done enough root cause analysis to know that the same failure mode can have multiple root causes. They obviously fixed a "known" root cause with the recall (physical difference to replacement parts). They obviously also didn't fix all of the root causes (continued failures).

What physical differences did the original recalled clutches have compared to the new/current clutches?

The Original recall was led to believe it was a casting error in the clutch cover causing the failure. All clutches were recalled for further inspection, stop sale was issued on all sleds with suspected clutches. The clutches were then replaced with new clutches from a different run of casting no physical differences or dimension differences internally were made. Sales continued and we are now 3yrs later with numerous reports of injuries and exploded clutches.

Please reference each part number change and the changes associated with the part from the original recall to the current clutch.

How do you not lump together the original failures (exploding) with the current safety issue of the clutches still failing/cracking and still exploding? Are you insane?

What root cause analysis have you done on this current issue, and what did you come up with for the original recall?

This clutch was produced shortly after the original recall. Please note the date of Sept 2017 which was only a few months after the original recall. Looks like great evidence of a continuation of the original recall to me

I feel it’s like a countdown to someone getting a chunk to the body and dying. Yea, it’s a morbid thought but man oh man, it’s just a matter of time.

Another one bites the dust. 2019 M8000 3000kms/1900 miles. Two months off of warranty. Clutches may be back ordered. Notice the hole in the bellypan. No injuries. If warranty is rejected, empty wallet syndrome may ensue. Will post updates.

They have been able to balance clutches for a long time. Taken a few of mine there over the years. I think Bel Engine Services used to do it as well.
