Put camp in yesterday, road was good a bit icy and a bit of mud. Had to put chains on the old bus to get up Stetson. Found out today when we got home they postponed camp set date due to the roads being damaged.

It was a late post from what I saw, last minute decision. At least you're in and don't have to go when it pukes piles of snow. Busses don't like likes of snow

I have a winter camper and sled deck, is there a place to go for visitors there?

We ride 30 miles of groomed trail to kakwa lake. And bust out from there. That's why most of our sleds have extra gas on the back. Also would be best to hook up with one of us locals to get the advantage of having someone who knows the area.

Kakwa is the 2nd biggest riding areas next to Sea to Sky,.. Whistler area. If you know certain people you don't have to ride the 40km one way trail to the Kakwa Lake - cabin,. good areas elsewhere.

You are right but some of those meadows are being made off limits now, and they really prefer you stick to the trail to at least the Cecilia y. I've rode out there for better than 45 years.

Hey guys. Rode kakwa this weekend. Man the weather was awesome. Found some good snow. Snow is definitely low for this time of year. Trail was good lots of riders. Burnt all my gas, and had to use my saw at the top end of Babette. No comment. IMG_6804.jpg IMG_6806.jpg IMG_6848.jpg IMG_6813.jpg

We broke trail through the pillows to surprise pass and down the wall at Cecelia only three tracks through yesterday. Snow was great. 160km yesterday.

You guys covered some ground. We had little setbacks all day. Blew a belt on a new 850, then I blew my new gear belt on my pro, then I found a tree. And finished off the day with a 3 sled bumper car. Didn’t get back to camp till 7. Was a beautiful day though. When we hit the lake the pillows was our destination but that quickly changed.
