Re: Is man' made climate change real?

I’m just sick of having my contributed tax dollars going to subsidize someone wanting to “test” electric , cars , trucks, trains, and solar this and that , failure after failure , and watching those dollars go down the drain because of misinformation, half truths, manipulated data, and usually , if you follow the money trail, there is a person of influence who is reaping the benefits, not Mother Earth. All the while using that corrupted data and fear mongering , telling me it’s good for me and I shouldn’t be so selfish, Cause 97 % of the 2500 chosen scientists they interviewed said we are doomed if we don’t make monetary and economic and comfort sacrifices. And if you choose to listen to any of the other learned experts , you are a denier , and should be ashamed and hang your head.

Facts like the following article seem to suggest being cautious is prudent

The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen, Norway.Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

I apologize, I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922. As reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post — 88 years ago!

And yes , it was verified by Snopes . LOL.

Exactly - I’m supposed to feel guilty for heating my home and feeding my family and using a internal combustion engine for getting to work. Just where does that carbon tax money disappear to anyway?

In terms of just raw numbers. Solar becomes cheaper than gas per MWh produced. I'm going to say that labour and maintenance on solar will be far less than natural gas. Also your input for solar panels is delivered for free every day to your location. Do you still go ahead and build the natural gas facility?
Are you figuring storage into your calculations? I'm not that educated on power generation but to me, batteries are the biggest issue around solar and wind. Coal, gas and hydro are supply on demand. Solar and wind rely on mother nature and require storage. We are long way from getting rid of ICE vehicles. And filling every basement with batteries isn't really feasible. The way technology is advancing though, I'm sure something better is going to show up soon. What's wrong with nuclear?
What was this thread about again? O ya. Humanity may contribute a bit to climate change. But a very small amount. And this girl inciting panic is just a pawn in a globalist agenda. Chicken little.

It’s always easier to recycle material than it is to mine new material. And where will technology be 30 years from now?

The only significant technology change will be the source of energy used for the reclamation process. ...energy that will likely be more expensive than today's unless we come up with significantly more viable alternative energy sources.

Plus, it is not ALWAYS easier to recycle than to mine new material or the reclamation process would be cash positive, not cash negative.

It’s useless to generate power between 8am to 5pm? Aren’t those business hours? What time of the day does the air conditioner run?

Right now you can’t run a province on 100% solar energy. So if it’s less than 100% effective is it useless?
What is the benefit of bringing solar on line to reduce load on existing systems during daytime hours if you still need to maintain the existing infrastructure to provide energy at peaking times?

So when I haul my bare copper wire to the scrappers and they pay me, they are losing money?

So every solar install in the world will be compared to Nelson from now until the end of time? Give me a break.

I never said that, what i said was do the research for yourself... which i know you will not. Use your Brooks solar farm for numbers if nelsons solar farm numbers are too low for you. How they dam media can get people believing lies is mind boggling to me.

Well for starters Brooks is 15000KW and nelson is 60KW so there is a huge scale advantage (Brooks is 250x larger). As well as a better location for more hours of sunlight.

Of course not, all the work is done for them already. Now have them separate small amounts of copper from glass, lead, adhesive, silicon, and a few toxic chemicals and tell me how much money they'd give you for it. ...my bet is $0. In fact, you'd likely have to pay them.

3:30 pm in Brooks now- putting out 1/15 of it's rated power again. Sure wouldn't want to depend on only sunny days to get my power.

True for some things, except lithium ion batteries, solar panels, galvanized steel including tin cans, and most plastics.
As for the renewable energy systems, there has yet to be a solar or wind generating installation that has produced more than 25% of its rated output for anything other than a brief period of time. Because of that, there always has to be a primary generation network available ( be it hydro or fossil fuel powered) to provide the 99%+ reliability demanded by consumers.
Renewable energy systems are an exercise in feel-good politics that cannot exist without massive taxpayer funded subsidies, and the current battery and solar generation technologies are a looming hazardous waste disaster in the making as they reach the end of their lifespans and start to accumulate as piles of unrecyclable heavy metals and chemicals.
