Anyone have a Yamaha ef2000is generator? Thinking about getting one for my camper. Looks like it is quiet. Should work for my microwave and charging the battery when needed. I doubt it will be enough to run the ac.

Also comparing this to a ef4000d Generator. Same price. The big one is of course way heavier and little louder but can run everything.

These are awesome little gensets. They are inverters and I can hook them in parallel to run the AC. I can just run one for everything else. Around 40 lbs each and super quiet. $499 on sale

It won't run your ac. Even the 2400 won't run some AC units.

I paid $90 for mine plus shipping. Honda and Yamaha don't have a parallel kit for their 2000 w generators. Something about not meeting Canadian electrical code. You can only parallel the US models

I used mine last season and I was quite impressed. Start very easy, run super quiet and the stack on top of each other so I only need one cover when camping lol

I have it. Its quiet in eco, not much louder under load. Does what it needs to do for us. We don't worry about running the a/c. I like the Yamaha over the Honda as it has a fuel shut off. I think I saw they have rebates on them right now.

Now as far as charging the battery, well it depends on your battery use. If you are plugging your trailer power cord into the genny it can take several hours for the on board charger of your trailer to charge the battery(s). Then the on board battery display will likely show full long before the battery is full because it is only working off the input voltage. Each person's battery use is going to be different so as long as you know your usage you can determine if charging with the unit is enough.

So while doing more research I found out I can run my ac on a 2000 watt gen set. It is only 9000 btu. Remember this is in a truck camper not a trailer. So I am back to thinking about the inverter style. Also looking heavily at the champion model also. The less I have to spend the better. Thinking if I am running the gen set id prefer to be quiet also. I don't want to stick it in the bush and have someone help themselves. Under the truck would be nice

I run the Yammy 2000w on my truck camper and loves it. Runs the AC well and in the fall it will run the mattress heaters just fine too. Nice an quiet. If you are comparing with the Honda i took the Yammy as it had a fuel gauge.
