how to sharpen a chainsaw chain

When I'm done sharpening the chainsaw cut has a bigger slice than my golf drives.
I suck.

My dad let me wreck a couple chains when I was a kid to learn how to sharpen properly. I cut about 6-7 cords every year for my shop and sharpen my own saws, don't have any shop out in the bush on hot standby to sharpen for me if needed. Over the years I've learned to be extra careful to preserve the edge as long as possible. By doing this I don't need to sharpen every time I fuel/oil the saw, I can usually go 3-4 cord without having to touch up the chain. I've never used any of the sharpening aids, that Timberline sharpener looks like it should work pretty well.

Any of you wood cutters that are more experienced tried the carbide chains? What do they cut like. Supposed to last way longer and $12 to sharpen at rent it store - prob could do yourself with dremel and diamond bit

Expensive to purchase and sharpen yah need a special diamond wheel for the chain grinder, if a person already had the grinder it would of been more attractive at the time.
It was cheaper to sharpen 6 chains every night, and I got really good at sharping chains and keeping from dulling them.

From what I heard those chains are popular with fire departments.
