The rumor is there is a new chassis and engine (900)for next year.

IMO I think that's a stretch, doo has had bad luck with new engines and chassis, putting them together would be sketchy, I've had two first year engine sleds.

I would hope it's engine first, chassis second.

Historically 4-5 yrs we have seen new developments on the entire sled. Likely next production yr we will see a new looking platform. Eager to see what will come, to this already tuned machine. Really hoping they step it up with factory BB or turbo.

Except for the latest platform, which was introduced in 2008.

I bet you will see a bigger engine, with all that track why not put more power in front of it. They will ride the 3 inch track and the R motion suspension another year or two.

It has the same basic tunnel and thats it, just like the new Polaris has the same basic tunnel as the pro.

Who cares, sled will always have 2 ski's, a track a tunnel, engine, clutches ext.

They keep getting better every year, but they still have the same basic design they did 50 years ago.

Is a new tunnel one of the things it needs the most? I don't really think so, maybe some new plastic...

Look back in history.. doesnt take a rocket scentist to figure it out.

Rev 03 04 05 06(ptek) 07 =5 years
XP 08 09 10 11(e-tech) 12 =5 years
XM 13 14 15(T3) 16 ? =4 years Not done yet.

there are many other things that line up with each other in there too.... The release of the 800R ptek motor in the Rev, The release of the e-tech engine in the XP, And the T3.

It's as much about releasing new technology as it is about staggering releases to keep peeps interested and updating (= spending money).
I agree with Trent, another XM release then a chassis change, then another update etc etc etc.

Tapatalk....well I'm happy with you now....thanks for the fix.

Too bad they had to get heavier to get better. The 08 XP was nice and light. Not much heavier than the 16 Pro.

Have you not been paying attention??????? Get you head out of your azz.....Dry or even dressed weight means nothing, it's all about the riding weight and the XM sheds excess snow better than all the others therefore the "riding weight" is much less than the inferior products provided by other manufacturers.

Dry weight DOES mean nothing. Nobody cares if the sled is 15 pounds heavier at the start of the day when they are good a rested... Well good anyway... Its about how heavy it is after you have been riding all day and are starting to get tired.. Some sleds DO take on alot more snow than others... Watch the you tube video where those guys bring the scale up with them and weight them all right on the mountain after they have been riding... The weight differences are any 15 pound spread thats for sure...
