Looking at getting a pressure washer, keep around the house. Like the hot water from a Hotsy, but why are the pressure ratings so low?

Probably because of the heat you can generate with the Hotsy. Big heat plus big pressure equals big paint peel. Lol.

have several at work. Yes they will spray soap under pressure. As said, it is pretty easy to peel the paint right off a truck with them if you are not careful with the heat and spray distance.

You can get higher pressures just depends on your budget and needs. Try Landa dealers..........Hotsy likely has some higher pressure units. We rent MITM 3000 psi units and they seem to perform well.

I have to get one myself. I have a crappy little Karcher, but I keep it in the trailer to wash rads in the bush. I looked through my receipts for this year...I've spent $1036 at the carwash so far...and I have 7 weeks left before year end. Wouldn't take too many years to pay for a Hotsy.

I'm going to drop into that hotsy place on 111ave and check them out.

I use a washer 3-4 hrs a week for various things, have tried most different ones and heat is great but has it's own issues (etc scale in coils, cost. etc.) There more maintenance required with a heated unit and you are usually limited in mobility. Bang for buck a $1000.00 washer from princess auto with a good quality soap/degreaser sprayed out of a weed sprayer will go a long ways, this allows longer contact time, so you can emulsify dirt better.(Caution using degreaser will wreck some clear coats)

In my experience 3 gals a minute is about as small as I want to go, (still better than a good car wash) and 4 gal/ min gets stuff done. Above that you are getting into 15hp engine and above, just not practical for joe average.

As stated above pressure is not the end all , dilution is the solution volume wins every time.

I have used AR pumps and cat both are good, honda gas engines are bullet proof.

I agree the acid is easy to do but most will be intimidated by it. Also the cost of a heated unit is minimum 3-4 times of a non heated plus you have the issues of all your controls for the heat loop etc. If money is not in the equation buy a heated unit they are awesome.

So even filling it with vinegar and letting it sit for 3 hours or so then emptying will do the trick I would imagine for the joe blow home guy that doesn't want to buy acid.

Definitely leaning toward the 555SS. Burn diesel, plug into regular wall outlet. I believe the next series up is 220V, Not really interested in getting a line run for that. 7 year warrantyon the pump, 5 year on the coil and 1 year on the cart. Will deliver right to my door.

Nice. I was hoping to find someone that had one. Good heat and flow? Gets stuff clean even if it can't blow the paint off it? It seems to be the best balance between pressure and flow.
