Tahiti is by far the nicest place I have been so far. The stand out was Bora Bora but every island we hit was unreal and really can't beat the water there. This is a couple pictures I took in Bora Bora and one on another island I can't remember the name of right now.

I agree Cabo is nice but I also find it is more expensive than other mexican destinations. Heading to playa in 30 days. One of my other fav areas.

Cabo is a bit more pricey I agree, better once you get out of the marina district though...
Have not been to playa in a few years & I hear lots of positive changes

last yr I stayed with friends and drove one of their vehicles. That was a bonus. Time before I stayed at the Riu Palace. Was nice there.

This year we are trying the Grand Princess all Suites just outside of playa. I like the area but havn't stayed at that resort. Its the one that had the explosion a few years back.

#1 favourite.. Costa Rica, don't do a resort, book a condo through a vacation rental site, very safe place, awesome weather, surprisingly cheap for flights. I had such a great time I honestly want to move there. #2 Jamaica...been there 3 times stayed at grand palladium lady Hamilton twice, and would go back in a heartbeat but it's gotten expensive this year, stayed in runaway bay once at Bahia principe, didn't like it as much but still nice. Also found it very safe, hope off the plane and hop in a taxi instead of waiting for a tour bus to take you to your resort. Been to punta mita last year, it's third. Heading to maya riviera this year to check out the carribean side of Mexico.

What is there to do there? We are not into boating or diving, etc etc. Is there much to do other then sit on the beach?

Costa Rica! This is my playground. Been to every corner of Mexico and everything south of Cuba down to st martens.
I brown bag my trips down in Costa Rica as I find living around the locals a blast, so cheap and some great people. Rent a rig and get lost is the best...best adventure by far was making a wrong turn into the jungle south of Golfito...panama is really close lol. Way cool because no one care your there.
NOTE" best to learn there lingo though.

We are headed to Antigua at the end of January, never been but everything we can find shows lots of beautiful beaches so hopefully it will be a good trip.

Antigua is beautiful. Very quiet island. We stayed at the Sandals resort and it was excellent.

And how much did the trip cost?

We did the trip on a cruise so we got to hit a good majority of the islands which was nice. It is definitely a water place so if you aren't into the ocean or beach I would say it may not be the right spot. For pure beauty of the scenery I don't think it can be beat other than our own mountains.

The cruise was about 8k per person including chartered flights to and from LAX. In Bora Bora a room over the water starts around $1500 per night up to about $15,000 per night so the cruise was good priced as far as that goes.

i agree spent 5 weeks there from Libya to tambor and 5 resorts and 3 hotels, mount Arinell was great, spelling might be off, lol
I would love to buy a place and spend winters there if it was easier and cheaper to fly there, good luck and enjoy.

I Looked at buying a place there but I think it's just easer to rent. Lots to look after unless one plans on spending most of there time there. There is so much to see and I find each area so different. Love the samara area. You need to travel south, it's more topical. If you ever get over to the east coast down around puerto Viejo, just north there's a little town called bribri best fried chicken ever....would put KFC right outa biz.

I will be heading to Mexico for the Baja 1000. Should be fun. Have not been out of Canada since a yellowstone trip in 92.
