thanks Judy.I know it's a strange comment. The media has been interviewing the wrong people - ones that are just repeating what they have heard from others involved. They haven't yet interviewed the actual rescuers. That is being remedied. Thanks go out to Dave Jeck, who has headed up this rescue right from the start. Thanks also go to the volunteer diggers (a small but determined group), and thanks to all those that care enough to help in their own way via donations.
I have been away from the computer for 3 days now. You may call me at 250-569-7337 and I will be home tonight. Those supplements may be sent in care of me to Box 729, McBride,BC V0J 2E0.
I can get them up there with Matt, and provide correct doses as well.
i" be in for a couple hundred bucks as well were can we send it...
A few years ago a friend and I hauled 3 cows out of the bush almost 20 miles.
They were snowed in and starving.
We hogtied them and put them on a larger skimmer
3 trips and they were at the road.
I have pictures of the other 6 that didnt make it , but we got the 3 out.
Why not tranquilize these horse and do the same?
I am heading out the afternoon of the 24th, pm and I can pick it up tomorrow evening or wed morning and I can have it to her the evening of the 24th.
Kudos to all involved for the hard work.
Amazing that this is coming from someone from Texas.Don't want to butt in but I would check with the vet on the supplements that you want to carry up to the horse. Just to make sure it won't cause any problems.
I believe it was mentioned in a previous post the vet didn't believe the horses were in good enough shape to recover from the tranquilizers. no worries Ken, everyone wants the best for these horses and the folks closely involved seem to have a good handle on the situation. we are all hoping for the best.....Did I miss a comment somewhere?
I thought I might be qualified to make a suggestion as I have had dealing with this sort of thing.

This may happen but from the info we have this is not the case this time. I am sure the story will come out once the SPCA is done thier investigation.I started reading this thread and haven't read the whole thing yet. I am a horse owner and used to be a horse wrangler and guide for a local outfitter for four years. In defence of the horse owner I know a number of people who have lost horses for months in the mountains. Knowing that the riding area in Renshaw is not that far from many of the hunting areas in the Wilmore Wilderness Park from Hinton and Grande Cache area and since hunting season has only ended less than a month ago it is very possible that the horses got away while they were put out for the night. Many people use hobbles (like a hand cuff for horses to limit how fast they can travel). Maybe these horses could not hobble that well and were turned out for the night and wandered off from the rest of the group. It is quite possible as I know of a few people who are very experienced horse people which this happened to. They had hired helicopters for days searching for the lost horses only to have the horses found months latter in good shape. Now I don't know of these horses but I am just saying a very possible scenario that many non horse owners may not know of.
