I was ready to send a donation using paypal when I noticed it is american and changing the dollar rate. Sorry, I have a problem with that. Is there someone we can then mail a cheque to in McBride? We shouldn't have to convert and lose our money to help out when this is still in B.C. not the U.S. Thanks and keep up the good work to all those volunteering.

I donated 100 canadian today and checked paypal and bank account and it was 100 canadian they must have a arrangement asking for canadian funds.
But i see your point on ebay paying usd for canadian products.

Met the owner

I was at the cabin on Sunday Dec. 7. The owner was there with 2 guys that were making a trail down to them. His story was that on Sept 12 he was packing in supplies to a woman that was walking the great divide. The horses got stuck in the muskeg and got tired and wouldn't follow him. He left them, He said he never went back to look for them until OCT 22. then tese 2 snowmobilers seen them on Sat Dec. 6. I asked him if he had a gun and he said no. I would of shot them. 2 The 2 snowmobilers that went down to them Kudo's not many people could get in and out of there on that day and you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you. The Idiot that owned the horses should of started this back on sept 13.

was that the older guy on the grey yammie??

Sent you a pm regarding drug company support. Thanks Alan.

Can someone put a call to Sara. Bioniche Animal Health will be closed for shipping from tomorrow until the new year. If she wants the donation then she needs to give me a shipping address by tomorrow. Thanks Al

Hey haggis----sara isn't around this weekend as far as I know. There was only 8 of us digging today so more are needed if this is going to happen. There is hay being brought in for the horses, but with the weather changing and the holidays coming and people like us leaving because of work schedules the more help the better right now. There was a crew of four at the bottom of the trail digging and 4 digging from the top.

HUGE thanks to all the sledders and people concerned- helping out these poor horses-you have hearts of GOLD! If people want to head up and help dig-maps are available at Spin Drift (McBride shop). Donations can also be left at Spin Drift or the Husky station under the name of the SPCA-to assist for fuel costs for sledders going in 2x a day to feed the horses, and various equipment. Horses were examined by a Vet and SPCA investigators (they are conducting an investigation). The horses are very thin but stable- have been blanketed and are being fed under Vets direction. Digging for now-looking into a chopper but last quote was $7000 (and they werent experienced in animals rescue)! SPCA will be attending weekly if people have questions.
Please be SAFE, dont head up without talking to someone from the club who knows whats going on.

Dont be too hard on Summit. I think what he is trying to say is that the same person who is up there helping these horses out and devoting money and time might step over a starving homeless person without a glance. I think the people out there helping out these animals deserve praise, but it sure helps put things in perspective. We can go to great lengths to save an animals life, but don't look at the big picture sometimes. Its just something to think about. Cheers to all.

Digging went well today and we made some good progress. If all show up tomorrow we should be close to joining the top and bottom trails. Then we let it set up for a day and out they come,WE HOPE. Once they are out this will be a sweet area for tree pounding with 7 feet of pow in most places. Can hardly wait.

Great to see the rescue effort is going well. Remember we have a tab on the main page on the left side for donations for this as well, the donations have been rising quite good, a list of donations will be compiled and posted later. Were now in excess of $ 1400.00

I hear this is now making the news too, good to hear. For all the people working hard on the rescue in Mcbride, good on you all. I think this will turn out into a good Christmas story.
