They will have to walk out. There has not been much talk of taking a horse trailer and putting ski's on it. So I think they are hoofing it !

I agree Powertool !!! A modified horse trailer with skis could easily be pulled by the trail groomer, and save a lot of physical wear on the horses and the tired crew helping them!

HATS OFF TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED ON THIS DESPERATE MISSION !!!!!!!

There obviously is a reason that it has not been done. But I am sure it has been discussed. Not sure how the hitch weight would be on the groomer ? Might be too heavy

Don't mention it ! We Canadian Snowmobilers are ALWAYS willing to help..
If it will go faster and higher on the snow we will try and put ski's on just about anything...

Great news - will be good to get the horses down so they can receive proper veterinary care. Big 'hats off' to every trencher that moved all that snow!!!!

Wow!! What a tremendous effort to help these horses.

'Hats off' from Chicago!

Down the road It'll be interesting the names you give these 2 horses.

But, first things first.

It will be interesting to see in the end how far around the world these horses have touched the hearts of people and how far away that donations have been sent..

Still waiting for the call that they are down and in a warm barn tonite. The handlers thought it might take up to 6 hours to walk them down if they were up to it. By the sounds of it they were in a bit of a hurry when they were led off the side of the mountain. I think they knew the struggle was almost over and a warm barn was in sight. I didn't do as much digging as I would have liked to, but would like to thank each and everyone of you that pitched in and brought this to a happy ending. The people in this valley are amazing. Thanks to all that donated and got the word out that help was needed.
Merry Christmas to all.

Got home a little over an hour ago. The horses are down from the mountain and safe and sound (considering the circumstances).
It's been a long day and a long walk...

A warm stall for these horses on Christmas Eve!!!

There are some very brave people leading these souls to safety.

Looking forward to the 'pics'.

Thanks to all of you.
