To make a long story short, I bought a truck from someone who had satellite radio, after a couple of months after I bought it, he cancelled the subscription.

But all of a sudden today I was flipping through the media modes and noticed that it was up and running...

Is there a freeplay weekend or something? could it be possible that they reinstated his account and included my truck (his old truck) on his new plan?

I don't know how the contracts work with these subscriptions, maybe I just got lucky??:noidea:

Cuso, not nice to give us poor saps hope. I check my satellite radio in the car every day in hopes it'll have more than the promo channel. I've been let down every day so far. Maybe tomorrow it will work?

Since we're talking sattelite radios.....can anyone actually listen to the comedy channels for more than 5 minutes? I really didn't buy a subscription to have to listen to some clown tell me I should consolidate my debt, or buy cheap insurance, or that my dick's too small! I hear enough of that at home!

A lot of people used a generic address in the states so they could get all the stations as canada banned Howard Stern and a couple of other channels, and XM/Sirius send out notice's of renewal and if you don't respond they try charge the credit card that was used to activate originally to renew.

I hear you about all the other channels!! Never listened to the NHL, NBA, MLB, NFL (about 10 friggin' channels), all the news channels, etc.

I like Prime Country, Willie's RoadHouse, The RoadHouse and that's about it.

The other day fumbling through the various frequencies on my Bosh work radio, I found that the mine is re-broadcasting The Blend so I listened. Pretty good not too bad. I don't know the XM Channel number but I will look for it.

I had a salesman tell me the other day that he contacted them and asked for a rate reduction and lo' and behold he got one. That's been put on my bucket list.....and I'll let you know how that goes!

What do you mean "re-broadcasting"? I've had a Sirius unit for years, and have noticed that when I pull up the signal indicator (from the menu) there are separate bars for SAT (satellite, obviously) and TER (I've always assumed Terrestrial). When I'm out in the middle of nowhere, I never see any bars on terrestrial, but when I'm in the city, I sometimes do. I figured that maybe Sirius had some terrestrial repeaters in some places.

Is the TER more of a peer to peer re-broadcasting, than a service?

I find that with alot of the howard channels (100 and 101). I can only stand so much of thier shock radio. some of it, in moderation, pretty funny, but damnnit, its the same thing over and over. I am an octane and Covino & Rich guy..
And for what it is worth, i bought my sirius about 7 years ago. paid the full lifetime subscription, total all in was $550. long been paid for. There is some jerk off on Kijiji in Toronto selling lifetime subscriptions for Sirius, but sounds like a BS scam. Says he WORKS for Sirius, you'd need to call him direct for assistance, needs cash, bla bla bla.

I was actually talking about the more "normal" comedy channels.....Blue Collar Comedy etc. Nothing but friggin commercials every five minutes. I didn't buy a subscription to listen to commercials!

in US cities there are terrestrial rebroadcast towers where the sat signal is impeded by large buildings.
