A buddy of mine bought a boat that came with sat radio. Never had to pay a subscription, it worked for the 3 yrs he had it. Then sold it to a friend of mine, 2 yrs later it's still working still no subscription ???
I bought two radios at an estate sale a couple years ago, plugged them in and they have been working since. Guess if the original purchaser gets a lifetime subscription and then never cancels it the subsequent owners benefit.

Oh, and from what I heard, the lifetime subscriptions are a thing of the past. They apparently stopped that program.

Sirus stopped them in and around 2009. If you have a lifetime subscription, it can be transfered 3 times to new radios (say you get a new radio, new car with sat radio etc).

I work in the patch, in some pretty barren areas for radio, other than say CBC, which I WILL NOT listen to those commies. So sat radio is a godsend for those long travel days!!
