Help Needed From All You Big Brains

I noticed a small tear in the CV boot of one of my front axles. I know its from our last trip, running through a cut block. So the plan would be replace the whole axle with a new one (aftermarket), fix the old and keep as a spare.
Problem is, there are no aftermarket axles for my machine, which is really weird. All the retailers I spoke to, and the dealership were scratching their heads.
I check the usual suspects around town, Rapid Rev., Fort Nine (called them actually), Country Cat, and Alberta Cycle (no way I'm spending $450 on a front axle!)
The machine in question is a 2016 Arctic Cat Alterra 500 XT EPS.
If I'm left just replacing the boot, so be it. I guess I'm looking to see if there's a cross over parts list to confirm what parts from other machines fit my unit. This is the first year Textron took over AC, hence the Alterra name, and the lack of info on aftermarket replacement parts. That's my theory anyway.

do you have the axle out of the machine already? if so there should be a part number stamped on it somewhere, post that on here, then we can likely help you further.

Also, for CAT parts and service..... Central Sled Wetaskiwin kicks the crap out of the Edmonton CAT dealers.

The Ac part # is 2502-351. I was thinking maybe other machines use the same axle, maybe a more popular machine, better seller would have an aftermarket alternative. But no dice. The Mudpro's front axle is different. Checked the year previous and the year after. The 2015 is 2502-352, close, but not sure.
Last resort would be to take the axle into a dealer and measure it/compare it to some available options.

2502-351 is a change up from 2502-107.

See if maybe you can find something that matches to 2502-107.

Have heard they ship quick. Have never used them personally.
Why don't you install a new boot and go? Or did it suffer some other damage?

I reread and see you want a spare.
Lists 2017-2020 Alterra 700 using the same axle.
I use the oem parts finder on Don's speed parts website and it lists a different number for the 500. 2502-352 for the front. Maybe measure and compare if you can find stock in Canada

so how bad is the boot tear? i have repaired torn axle boots with windshield sealer, and ran the axle to failure 2 yrs later, the boot held together that long and was still able to go longer! up to you, as you have nothing to lose as it is. clean the old grease out , put new in clean boot tear area and apply sealer, let it sit for a full day. as in leave it alone! good to go. ride it till it fails or u can locate new axle, or find the knuckle itself?

doorfx is the man! He has offered untold amounts of knowledge on my wife's TRV.
Worst case I just replace the boot. There should be next to nothing wrong with the inside, the tear was very fresh. My Gorilla tape and tie wrap temporary repair held up for our whole ride, 100km plus all the donuts on the lake ice!

If the joint is still good and you have the time and patience , just replace the boot.

OEM boot kit is 2436-111 about $80.
Much cheaper ones on ebay.

So why not just put a boot on it ? If u replace the axle every time you tear a boot u will be poor in no time. Boots tear .

Replace one axle, then fix the old and presto...you have a spare!
