Hey guys,
Took last season off (glad I did) as I sold my sled before the season started and didn't end up buying anything to replace it.
This year I'm getting back into it again but having a hard time deciding which way I want to go for a sled. Here's what I've narrowed it down to:
2024 Khaos 155 Slash 850 NA
2024 Summit Edge 146 850 NA
I normally spend most of my time but not all in the mountains and I like to jump. I like rowdy shorter sleds and have never owned anything longer than 154/155. No brand loyalty as I've had them all. Haven't ridden any sleds newer than 2015.
The Khaos is roughly $1500 cheaper than the Summit with rebates on right now.
Summit is a shorter 146 which I like the idea of, can't find any 146s left in a Khaos so 155 is as close as I can get.
I know the 146 will suffer in the deep deep days but I don't seem to catch that many crazy deep ones anyway and am a fairly light guy now (168lb and dropping, down from 225lb last December).
My wife is also wanting to give it a go this year so I expect I'll be finding myself on milder slopes and some trails while she learns the ropes before hopefully moving onto more technical terrain.
Expected riding areas would be Golden BC, Cataract Creek AB, Crowsnest Pass AB, Fernie BC or Elkford BC.
What do you guys think? Polaris makes me nervous with the recalls as of late and seemingly lower resale than the Doo's but probably a better all around sled for deeper days. I would hope to keep either sled for 3-4 years.
Skidoo is more up front cost but I expect the residual would be better and maybe more of the rowdyness I am after being a 146.

… Ive personally not had an issue with the P22 clutch on the 9R, (have two of them) but it sounds like they have that sorted out.
