Was up into Holt and over into Lang today (Gorman). Went about 3/4 of the way up to East-Quartz. Normal mid-season routes are not accessible. All of the ridges are exposed and knarly but passible. Did not go up to the saddle above Cirque (Cirk). Big nuggets everywhere waiting to take your a-arms out. That said, we still found some decent snow to play in. Needs 2m's+ of snow still.

Yes gorman Allways needs more snow to ride, but once full of snow is my favorite place in golden
Just wanted to let others know how we made out and that it's not quite ready; which is something you locals and seasoned folk already knew. No one really quantified or specified the exact conditions previously. Essentially, if you are willing to take the risk, some good snow could be found.
I agree with our sentiments about Gorman and it is definitely one of my favorites. I think it's the best day-tripper for Sledders coming from out of town, or if you're on your way back from Sicamous/Revy.

Heard it was pounded out on the weekend. Still some rocks and stumps to be wary of there too. Has had some snow since then.

Rode Silent yesterday. Excellent conditions for this time of year. Most of the open areas are tracked out, but still some good stuff in left in the trees.
P.S If anyone comes across a Gramin 650 radio in Silent we lost one. Reward offered.

Quartz is is mangled.
Went out friday and yesterday for my cousin's birthday. Neither him or my uncle had been to Quartz before so we all the the chance to learn our way around better. I wasn't too worried about conditions as the trip was my first time on the sled this year so it was good to make sure everything was working fine.
They're gonna need some good snow to recover from the past few days! Both Friday and Saturday we picked up lots of garbage however. Guy's, please make sure you clean up after yourselves out there. None of the trash looked intentional, just water bottles and wrappers etc. After taking a break/before heading down trail make sure all your bags are done up so you aren't inadvertently dropping garbage for others to clean up.
PS: The Golden club members did a great job on the cabin over the off-season!

Did the Rev run good this time??
So far so good... cracked my running board though 
I'm incapable of riding hard enough to be breaking things on my sled haha. It ran great, need to add some drop brackets as I find I rub the 2.25" track now.

We rode Gorman on saturday, we probed 130cm near the lake I was not comfortable stopping out on the lake to probe although there was lots of people that did. About 30cm of that was fresh snow but you would still spin down to the dirt if you tryed. If you tip toed around it was ok, everyone I seen that just took off rippen somewhere like it was january payed for it.
